A Concerned Miss Fortune Player's Letter

I've played Miss Fortune since she came out - She was the first champion that I owned via IP - I actually bought the retail box of the game so I owned practically all of them already.

She was the first ADC that I ever mained and decided to really stick with until the very bitter end - and I still have! I own all of her Skins, even have the vintage Miss Fortune Chirstmas skin and have played her for all 5 seasons so far.

It makes me VERY upset to see that Riot thinks that she is in a "healthy spot". Which, yes, this is true, but youre also screwing a lot of numbers to make this true. She's one of the least played ADCs so you have a very small number to go on via normal and solo queue and she has not ONCE been seen in competitive places like NA LCS.

There was a thread a few days ago complaining about Lucian and his current Win rate status. He currently has the lowest SoloQ win rate out of all ADCs and the lowest winrate in competitive - again, these numbers vary. Lucian isn't weak - not in the slightest. He was once one of the strongest ADCs in the game and I honestly still believe he is so. There isn't anything wrong with him. His skillshots and damage are pretty satisfying where he is right now - but the point remains is that he's seen consistent competitive play.

Miss Fortune has never actually seen consistent competitive play. Yeah she's had very oddball moments here and there but they're incredibly rare. Even Ashe, Trist, Kogmaw, and Varus have seen the light of day of competitive over her.

So why does this update upset me? For a number of reasons:

Grievous wounds is getting removed - yes, I know, this is getting removed from the game - BUT YET AGAIN, its showing inconsistency with the balance and rework teams. Why? Yet again, there was another reddit thread that showed Kat's ult had grievous wounds and not many other champions had it - so it's slowly making its way out. So whats the problem? Kat got reworked and they kept it in. Trist got reworked and they removed it. Miss Fortune gets QoL changes and they try to justify her means by allowing her (now nerfed to the ever loving depths of hell) passive to be activated just by activating her W.

So her passive now basically sucks. It vamps up per level (which, without numbers means it could be shit early and weaker even later), and you have to also spend Mana if you want to use it without waiting. Why does this bother me the most?

THEY DIDN'T. EVEN. LISTEN. TO. THE MOST. REQUESTED. CHANGE. - Change the passive so that it doesn't deactivate on minion hits. Why does Garen get this treatment over Miss Fortune? Because its Movement speed? Oh but it must be alright to fully heal yourself during lane phase just by playing defensively.

So it's already very clear: Riot didn't listen to Fortune fans.

Another example? Make it Rain. - While Make it Rain is a very nice skill and sure its gunna look pretty now: It doesn't do anything for us as ADCs. Okay, alright, Riot gets a few points for saying the slow is increased early but scales badly later. Okay? But its still a huge mana cost right down the toilet because we need to make people stand in the E in order for it to be effective. Early on in lane phase - you either use the mana to get a slow that MOST ADCs and supports can just dash, jump, etc. out of with just one ability that costs less than it did to cast Make it Rain - OR - you can not use it, because it doesn't do damage anyways, and pressure using just your AA's and your Q (since W no longer provides anything useful to combat against potions).

Her R has gone unchanged for the most part - I don't entirely like its new look but thats a personal opinion.

Her Q change? Now has become probably the most interesting skillshot in all of the game to use. While yes, Double Shot had already dealt extra damage to the target it bounced to, now they gave her a boost in laning phase to use it on minions about to die for even MORE damage - how much is still on the table but is worth mentioning since it gives her more poke ability and the previous QoL changes make the cost go down significantly enough that spamming it won't make you OOM in 3-5 casts.

So the final point to move to is the W active: Letting your Strut be used immediately on activation.

Why is this a bad thing? Simple: You either wait for the timing and the vamping from being out of combat to get what you want OR You activate your W and get it immediately.

So whats the scenario thats going to happen? A player will want to roam to mid, use their W to get their faster without having to wait for the passive to start, and when they get their? Their W is still on cooldown and they just lost their AS steroid.

That's a big problem considering most other ADCs with AS steroids have the ability to auto attack targets and lower the cooldown of their ability that gives it to them, ie: Graves and Trist. So again, its the heavy lack of consistency as well as just not even paying attention to what the majority of players want when it comes to changing and "improving" those "healthy" champions in the game.

I had massive amounts of high hopes for the rework and so far, I feel really let down for a number of reasons just outside of the changes to her kit, which, mind you, are personal opinions but still make me feel justified to write this post. Not because I just want to piss and moan and complain for piss and moan sake - no no. I am a very, very, very long loving Miss Fortune fan and I would just like some deeper feedback when it comes to one of my all time favorite champions in the game.
