Advice on transitioning from bots to normal

Meenah Mangle··1 votes·854 views

I did a bad thing. I leveled to 28 on bots. I was too nervous to try normal and then I got myself stuck in bots and now I'm more nervous to try normal at this level. I'm considering starting over. Or I may just get over it and deal with the fallout. Does anyone have any advice on how I can make this less painful? I don't really know how to ward so I'm pretty worried about that. I play Heimer and I know he can be an issue too. Ugh. I wish I had played normal from day one. Lesson learned.

watch some streamer or youtuber and follow what they do, they'll cover the basics. often times they're diamond+ and they know what they're doing. but if you need to learn how players interact, play dominion or aram first, or just join random custom games and see how people are different from bots, custom games have more potential for being one sided, but nothing will count.

personally i watch bjergsen, hes an amazing mid laner and he indirectly taught me to play mid.

if you know anyone else that plays, just play normals with them and just say you are learning the character in champ select. People are more likely to give you some leeway if they know ahead of time what to expect, or not expect.

Hold down tab while in game. Theres a mute button to assist you.

Just play norms, it's not that bad

Watch a tutorial on warding, and a pro playing heimer, and you're ready. After a few games, it'll match you against players at your level

You are going to run into players who have never played a moba. You are going to run into players who have 3k games on LoL alone. You are going to run into friendly players win or lose. And you will run into players who will be assholes win or lose. Some people play for fun, others are practicing as hard as they can to get into a new division, and are hurt when they lose.

My advice would be to not pin one title on everyone, because everyone is different. Oh...and Welcome to LoL!

Want bots on PVP? ARAM and Dominion. All levels.

Look up gbktv on twitch and watch phasekiller streams. They have a ton of past broadcasts and if you ever catch it when he's actually streaming he does it half in english and half in korean but is really awesome about answering questions and giving advice on heimer. He plays mostly heimer and morde (leaning heavy toward the heimer) with an occasional karthus game thrown in.

Also don't worry about it too much. I did/do most of my getting better in ranked. If you suck when you start playing the game will match you against easier people until you're dropped to the level you can hold your own, and then just work on getting better to move back up.

Uh. Don't play bots until level 28? You have a thing called MMR with places you with people your level or close. Usually level 30's are put with level 30's, 28's with 26-29, etc., and if you play bots until level 28 then you're going to be so unused to the level of play from level 26-29 and eventually level 30 players. Just won't work mun.

The trick is to not care about what others say and just enjoy yourself. If they make fun of you or call you bad, just remember that it's completely normal in League of Legends for team-mates to be toxic, annoying and selfish. Seriously, just play normal games until you get 'used' to the negativity. Of course you'll meet nice and positive people too, so it kinda evens out. Good luck!

If you learned how to cs/master what your champion does you should be alright. Focus on maximizing what you do the best. The number one thing you can do right now is don't die. PLay as aggressively as you can without dying.

I played bots to 30. played like 20 normals. I was always wondering what "rerolls" were and one day I tried aram and i havent been back to SR ( except 1 game of URF ) It's a great way to learn new champions. And you will start to learn what other champs can do and i think that's one of the biggest aspects of the game. I could prolly go back to normals and be daimond in like 1 weeknd :D

Thanks for all the advice! I think I will watch some videos and then just do my best and try to ignore the negative people. It is a game after all...

Just play normal. Who cares what people think? No one at your level would know how to "basics of League" anyway because they are supposed to be new or just bad. Unless of course, they are a smurf. In which case, you can just mute them.
