Vel'Koz Primary Role: Mid or Support?

He's a mage, just so happends he works well in bot lane too. Kind of a similar niche as

He should certainly be tuned around his mid role.

Quite fun as a support though because you can put more focus on his geometry play in the early game instead of wave clear. Just enough CC and base damage to work, though I personally haven't been brave enough to try it in a ranked match.

Can't really think of a reason I'd rather take him than Zyra support from an objective perspective on what he brings to a team, for one. Maybe slightly safer poke and kiting, but not quite as impactful.

He's a mid with high enough base damages to make him viable as a support. But his pickrate and winrate are both significantly higher as a mid laner and he should definitely be balanced around that role.
