Hi, I played a game the other day and we were getting heavily split-pushed through top lane. I was support (Morgana). Our jungler (Nidalee) was fed, but we were still losing the map. I purchased a banner of command to slow the split push from top and we took the advantage with the bottom lane inhibitor. I went to buy another banner of command so I could strengthen the lane more (or help control another lane), however I was only able to place the Banner Of Command onto one cannon minion( and both items in my inventory went into cooldown).

Anyway I guess my strategy was failing. In the end we ended up winning a base race in a 72 minute game. I ended up with more cs than anybody else in the game. Btw our ADC was not very good, I was level 7 and he as still level 5 before I decided I needed to cs to win the game.

My question is why can't I put Banner of Command on 2 different Minions if I buy 2 of the Item?

you can't stack the same unique active. You ever wonder why Zed doesn't get two item 3142 for double the buffs? same premise, different item. Stacking does not work in this case or in very many cases.

Unique Ability on iteam just like hourglass or Guardian Angel

Because the promote ability is unique and that means it doesn't stack

There are quite a few items with the property UNIQUE, which only one is effective. ZZ'Rot's Portal is the item I discovered the same situation on. Boots are another, and there's other benefits flagged as unique among the items as well.
