Alright so I took the risk of posting a thread defending Lucian

I'm not biased or anything, it's just an opinion , I don't even play him

The Problem is just too simple , Lucian isn't that Overpowered , it's just his meta to shine Give him some time , we got the new crit changes which will slowly make some marksmen in a better spot Not to forget that Mages supports are good picks in bot lane where he happens to be good against mages anyway

I really don't want the Season 7 days back where picking Jhin or Lucian almost counted as trolling Usually I play secondary role support so I play support a lot , it used to Insta-tilt me whenever my adc picked Lucian

And Lucian is an adc that isn't support Reliant anyway , which should really make him a decent pick anyway because you don't need to care much about your support , so he should usually have a positive winrate in most of times for that simply.

Not to forget , Lucian doesn't go with his support and 2v5 a whole team I definitely don't miss the Season 7 days where Cait or Tristana just go 2v5 with an enchanter

Despite Lucian being a strong pick right now , he wasn't unfun to play against as much as Season 7 meta I'm not Saying Lucian isn't strong , he definitely is , but it doesn't feel worth nerfing him other than reverting the unnecessary Q buff he got last time when he was already a good pick

At anyway this is coming from a Mid lane main , most of my champions are skill shots reliant and Lucian is extremely good against my champions , but I'll take his meta anytime , he is less unfun to play against than a Tristana if she becomes in a good spot And I'm sure most of other Lanes would agree with me , like Top mains , if they hate dealing with Lucian then because he is a ranged Marskman that can kite , not because it's Lucian Usually the Hate Lucian gets is simply from Bot laners , and I'm sure other laners would agree to play a meta where 3 roles are Viable more than only 2 roles Viable and other roles are just slaves for that 1 player It's not a Lucian problem , it's a Bot Lane problem from within.

ps : There is no fun to play against champion , no matter how weak a champion is , the moment you die , you would hate them , so I'm not saying Lucian is fun to plat against , of course it doesn't feel good when he is fed and dashes to you and kills you , just saying he is less unfun to play against .

I hope he gets gutted. I'm joking, but I hate playing against him, especially with gutted Akali. Don't know what the rest of the community feels.

The fact that a champ is meta shouldn't mean that said champ just counters every other single champ. Right now seeing my adc pick lucian means "oh nice free win". And it will feel bad if he gets nerfed to oblivion cause he is one of my favourite adc's.

He's a lane bully. Of course that's going to be true.

I think there's some interesting analysis to be done here, but I don't think asking other lanes if the lane bully is OP is probably the best lens to look through. I'm trying to decide what sorts of numbers we should look at to decide if it's the meta or if he's just OP. After all, the meta is partially defined by which champs are strong – those things aren't independent variables.

You're right to point out that his weakness is his short range in the late game. I, too, would rather face a late-game Lucian than a late-game Trist, all things being equal. The problem is, things aren't equal, because a late game Lucian bullied lane all game long, and a Trist going against him will be gold starved.

The problem is that the impact of the crit buffs on his winrate, banrate and pickrate are marginal.

There are no excuses anymore, he needs to be tunned down.

I think you understand something wrong about this.

Lucian is not favored by the meta. Lucian DEFINES the meta.

Crit ADCs are not weak because they can't carry. Crit ADCs are weak because they LOOSE to Lucian!
