Just did a terrible match (i do partially blame our jungler who wasn't ganking at all and missed easy shots) as Kayle top against a Trundle.
Trundle had 2 armor items (no health added) while I had some ad and ap damage and some atk speed.
But for some reason, Trundle was outdamaging me early game.
How is that possible for a tank to outdamage a dps early game?

My Ap/Ad damage should trump the Troll's damage early game. But even at lvl 1 (with me having my Q) he was still able to outdamage me.
Ryanks1 votesEven at level 1, if trundle took his Q (which I'm sure he did) his Q on top of stealing your AD is also an Attack reset, so he can AA-Q-AA very quickly, which against a squishy champ like kayle early on, its gonna hurt.

Ryanks2 votesBecause Trundle is a bruiser, not a tank, so he is totally capable of putting out high damage early on especially. His Q also steals AD from you, therefore lowering your overall damage and increasing his.

Have you read what Trundle's ult and Q do? His ult steals armour, MR and HP from his target and his Q steals AD. His W is a huge attackspeed steriod. Why do you expect to be able to outduel a Trundle?

He outduels most champions with his ultimate, because that is what it is designed for. Go in, make Trundle blow his ultimate, use your Q to slow him and walk away
Annoxis1 votesWhat are the CCs that Trundle bring to the table as a Tank ? His pillar. Every other spell in his kit are purely offensive. He is closer to a Juggernaut than a Vanguard. Thus, he has damage and was able to outdamage a late game carry as Kayle despite only building tanky items early game. Because late game carries in League of Legends who are DPS-Oriented are weak early game.

Annoxis1 votesWell, Trundle has insane sustain during the laning phase and has one of the most easy early of the game (not powerful, just easy).
Even if Kayle can harass a lot and can kite, she is a lot more mana reliant than Trundle. But once he start getting stuff, one or two items, it becomes a lot harder for Kayle. From that point, you will need to wait for the late game.

-He's melee, Rylai should be in the build. -He's a duelist, so afk farming time -He has decent sustain, (passive) so poking is kinda pointless

Kayle NEEDS attack speed. You had a hextech crap, and a dead man's plate. And a junler potion (WTF?)

PS: About the cull. It's a matter of preference, but when i know that i can't really go for kills, i get it, as the 450 G benefit compared to a doran item helps to cover 15 cs deficit, that i'm likely to have anyway...

Wolfess1 votestrundle has good base ad, has free atk speed frrom W and chase potential, ANd his Q STEALS ad from you, meaning he lowers YOUR ad and increases HIS, making his early dueling very strong as he offsets the damage difference between you and him a lot. at lvl 1 his Q reduces your AD by 20 I belive. that's a lot. also he has a good passive heal from his passive, gaining health every time a minion dies. Trundle is actually one of the best duelists due to his kit, don't underestimate him. He can 1v1 garens and win.
