Are you perhaps trying to 1v1 an AD assassin as a champion that doesn't thrive in a 1v1 early game fight? (the kind of fights ad assassins are strongest in)
If you are playing LB Ahri or fizz for example, I find it hard to believe you can't duel an assassin early game.

Unless you're able to post actual math and a screenshot that proves assassins are doing "damage like you got zero armor" then it sounds like you're just getting outplayed.
Duskblade first. It should lose either it's vision domination or it's lethality. Or go up in cost at least.
