Why does @Riot not communicate enough with us Players before they pull out new Kit changes/Reworks?

Hay guys,

Im just curious why Riot (kinda) never communicate with us players before they make any Rework or Kit Changes.

In Cases like Gangplank Ultimate, im fine with that, but thats only a simple change.

But in terms of Reworks or real Kit changes, why cant Riot make a thread? Or even a Survey: Hay guys, as u know, we are looking to rework SION. An all the layers: what did u liked the most? What ideas do u have to bring in? What do u feel like is SION about?

Thats just an example.I think if Riot would comunicate more with the player base, the results/the outcome can be much more "OP".

I dont want this for every buff or nerf. But for Kit changes and Reworks i would highly appreciate this form of communication.

Best example would be the upcoming Quinn changes (Ultimate probably).

Talk with us Riot. We can give advices .. dont have to bring them out if u feel like its not the "thing" u want. Just get us INVOLVED.

Please.

Kind Regards,

Nt Quinn2Win | Chris

They DID do that with Sion though, about 8 months back. They asked people, what do you hate about Sion, what do you like, what do you think we should do. General consensus was that with old Sion we hated the fact that regardless of what you build you have 2 useless spells. W and health stack were our favourite aspects of sion, and that his stun was the thing we liked the least (We also hated his mana costs).

We agreed that while we might miss AP Sion, he wouldn't be missed that much for a more useful version of him, some of us also thought that AP Sion shouldnt exist, because undead unkillable warrior shouldnt be mage. We agreed though however that Sion shouldn't particularly have sticking power, i.e. Sion should be a juggernaut slowly coming to you so you have that 'oh god its Sion RUN!' thing going on,

There were also actually questions based on lore as well. That's where the writers got the idea that he had to have accomplished something significant to be revived or else it wouldnt make sense that Noxus doesn't just have an undead army (guess they went with killed Demacia's king, and we'd revive more but this one kills our Noxians as well).

You're right though, as of recent, I don't see many Reds asking questions, (atm most red posts i see are from KateyKhaos but while im not 100% sure what she does im quite certain its not champ reworks) I'm hoping the rework team is slowing down so that some idea of what/how Season 5 is gonna be before they start working on changing kits again and that is why we aren't hearing much, because there isn't much going on on that front, even so, It'd be nice if they told us that so we wouldn't worry before they do something crazy like turn quinn into a mage or something behind our backs.

Because we are not developers or the balance team, interestingly enough. I'm not saying they're perfect, but lets be honest. Do you really think Sion's fans would've been an unbiased voice during his rework? No. No they wouldn't.

They do try to communicate, but then one of two things happens, they completely ignore our suggestions (Olaf Rework) Or go to Reddit and QQ till they are dropped (Lee Sin Rework).

The Trundle rework wasn't a rework at all. He still has his same spells. All of his abilities are exactly the same as they were, minus number changes. They're just textured differently and renamed.

Still waiting for that Ashe rework where they move Frost Shot to her passive and give her a steroid for her new Q (or move Volley to Q and make W the steroid, as is standard form for an AD carry).

  1. You're jumping to a conclusion based on a gut feeling without any evidence. I have no reason to believe what you're saying is actually true.

  2. Riot has the PBE where a lot of players do test all the new changes out and many of them give feedback on it. So, yeah. Good on you for accusing them of not doing something they are, and something you could actually participate in if you could find the time to fill out a form.

  3. Also - seriously consider what you're asking. Why doesn't Riot let their decisions get made by those guys in GD? Or that player you were teamed up with last game? Obvious reasons.

Because a rework is all about that champ, but also its interaction with others. Cass rework may looks abyssal to you. But there are 999000 other people laughing at it and thank Riot for that rework.

Let's face it, what you or I think doesnt matter. There is an old Teemo thread with 2000 upvotes (you read that right!) since 2012, doesnt matter. There are other 998000 people who do not want Teemo to be buffed.

seeing 999000 non-forumer-players is nice too

They DID made one for Sion like almost a whole year ago. Aside from making him have actually useful spells regarding on what he built, all the opinions were threwn out of the window.

Karma didn't get one though. Neither did Trundle, Trundles rework announcement literally went like this: "Troll in Freljord? Are we trolling you? TRUNDLE REWORK!" and that post proceed to get a ton of downvotes, didn't stop Riot from ruining Trundle though.
