So why is your system placing me in a league I'm not playing in? All of my games are decent MMR gold games, yet my initial placement is in bronze, can Riot pls stop screwing me over by forcing me to play an abysmal number of games at a distinct disadvantage just go get to the league the game thinks i should be at? My problem with whats happening is your own matchmaking has determined me to have massive MMR for where I am at, and I'm still crushing my role where matchmaking thinks I should be, so at what point does Plat+ (not gonna give away where my main is) mean Bronze?

Placed Bronze, crushing Gold games, seems right.

Your LP gains would be huge. This is not a problem. You spend too much time caring about what rank you are when you should be thinking about where your MMR is because at the end of the day, MMR is ALL that matters. Rank is just an aesthetic.

yea in the old seasons i go 10-0 on my smurf and place in plat 4 right away and skip gold entirely, now its like i have to start in silver

Starting you off in a lower elo keeps you playing more and thus you're more likely to spend money on the game. It's that simple and I'm not sure why anyone thinks it's anything but?

It always places you one rank lower than you placed in the previous season, unless you haven't played ranked in the previous season, because in that case you start from Bronze. It was meant to make people actually play for the rank instead of doing promos and stop playing, because they placed the same as in the previous season. Because there are ranked rewards and we know there are smurfs, this has to be done, because it forces the smurf players to actually spend time on their account.
