Kayle's New Kit Looks Awesome, But Really RIOT

"Transcendent (level 16): Kayle takes on her final form becoming permanently Exalted. Her flaming waves deal true damage."

Why do you guys have such a huge fucking hard-on for true damage?

Can you fucking not? This isn't an rpg single-player game. She doesn't need to be able to ignore what the enemy team builds against her.

Word, true damage is one of the worst mechanics in league of legends.

Let's be honest, this really isn't that different from the fucking ridiculous shread of a late game kogmaw.

And Kayles early is fucking abysmal. I'm calling it now, unless her early gets a significant buff, she won't see any pro play. Pick Darius or Renekton into her, and take over the game by level 9. I'm serious, even Kassadin probably has a better early with fleet footwork, his mr passive, and Q shield.

Remember how on current Kayle, if you're level 5 but still decent at kiting, you can Q someone and start whacking away at auto attacks? You even got a movement speed buff if you needed it for your W. That's how I use her as a current Darius counter, you can completely control the pace. New Kayle requires you to be level 16 to start fights with ranged attacks. That completely robs her of her power she has now. You are literally locked into being bad.

Of course they need to make her late game ridiculous. Doing anything else would give her a wr probably even worse than current akali.

Edit: also, how is health not a true damage counter? Something like Chogath or Mundo would probably do pretty well, or at least enough time for Cho to land a Q and everyone pounces.

So I thought the same thing as you, but after testing her on PBE there are a couple things I noticed.

  1. Full build, Kayle does like 100-150 true damage per attack. Sounds like a lot but honestly that's not that much. It only converts her passive exalted damage into true damage, so her E passive still does magic damage.
  2. Because of point 1, I don't think her absolutely dogshit early game compensates. Like... if she's counterpicked or even if she isn't she won't be able to farm and get items, get kills in lane without jungler help, or really do anything at all until level 11 when things swing around.
  3. Even at full hyper carry late game mode (which as described isn't a massive amount of damage) she is still super dependent on her team to protect her. She's not as endangered as Kog'Maw but her heal is better when someone else is around and her ult is better used on someone else.

Basically I'm not sure the payoff is worth it, at least not now. I could be wrong when she comes out.
