So I've been noticing a lot that when I play ADC, I get autofill supports what seems like 50% of the time, maybe more or maybe less. Regardless, you immediately know when you have an autofill support; they pick a champion that isn't traditionally a support (Gragas/Karthus/Volibear/etc) and they proceed to do things that make the lane impossible to play - they let you get zoned by standing far back, they mess up your waves, they go in by themselves and often feed constantly once they're behind. And typically they'll either be really toxic or they'll just mute you immediately because the moment they got Autofill, they stopped caring about the game.

These lanes feel quite literally impossible to win. It's really akin to having a Support who is flat out inting the enemy bot laner; how are you supposed to win, or for that matter, enjoy the game? What you have is a bot lane duo that is so miserable and so far behind that they're just going to be tilted and negative the entire game.

I just wonder if autofill support should actually be a thing? It feels like the team that gets the autofill support is immediately put at a considerable disadvantage; that's often (not always) equivalent to just losing your bot lane before the match even starts.

Am I crazy, or is this something any other people have noticed? It seems so prevalent and so tilting.

its been like that forever.

Now though since burst mages are meta botlane most mid laners dont have issues playing autofill support cause they just pick brand

The people who pick traditional supports even when autofilled is just as bad because you pretty much have the problems you described cause they dont know the role anyway

This. So much this. The Soraka that only knows how to W and run back to tower. The Thresh/Blitz who sits in a bush, misses a coin flippy max range hook, and then goes to hide outside EXP range.

Nobody wants to be the ADC who has to deal with this. Nobody wants to support an ADC who can't last hit.

That's why we have autofill. That's why we have tons of threads about how bot lane can't carry.
