How to fix Galio:

Galio

Old Ult:

ACTIVE: Galio becomes a statue and channels for 2 seconds, taunting nearby foes and reducing incoming physical and magic damage by 50%. When the channel ends, Galio bursts out of his statue form, dealing magic damage to enemies within range. The damage is increased by 5% for each attack suffered while channeling, capping at 40%. If the channel is canceled, the damage radius is reduced to 575 instead of normal.

New Ult:

ACTIVE: Galio becomes a statue and channels for 2 seconds, taunting nearby foes and reducing incoming physical and magic damage by 50%. When the channel ends, Galio bursts out of his statue form, dealing magic damage to enemies within range. If Righteous Gust has been cast, Galio may first leap to target location within it's area of effect. The damage is increased by 5% for each attack suffered while channeling, capping at 40%. If the channel is canceled, the damage radius is reduced to 575 instead of normal.

The wording is difficult, but basically: If you cast righteous gust and your ult is also available, your ult become targeted instead of point blank. For a "leap" (glide?) speed, think Kha jump. Galio would start the normal 2 second channel when he lands.

The idea is to give Galio initiation that is not 95% dependent upon flash being off cooldown. I think that this would also provide versatility for Righteous gust (serious zoning.) This would allow the rest of Galio's kit to stay the same, with the exception of some possible number tweaks for balance if needed, and bring Galio up to speed with more modern kits.

You should try to reword it. I'm assuming that what you mean is that Galio will preform an Aatrox dive into the ground at a target area and immediately begin channeling?

If so, its an excellent Idea that aloooooooot of Galio players want implemented. If also seen some excellent suggestions for Righteous Gust as well.

My favorite has been:

Galio gets a 4 second boost of movement speed that leaves behind a trail of wind. Allies who walk in this wind gain the same speed boost as long as they remain in the trail

The trail will curve with Galio's turns, similar to a target who has been hit with Nocturne's trail thingy, except the trail is made by Galio himself.

I always thought that it would be interesting if his W applied a spell shield(like sivir's) in exchange for a duration reduction. So it would still stay in its current form mostly except it has a shorter duration and would block the first instance of spell damage or CC.

This would allow him to actually be able to use his ult when the enemy has Braum/Leona/or Udyr

This would be a really powerful change- Galio's currently really good at tanking, he has enough burst if he gets off his full combo, and every one of his abilities has strong utility, on top of a free-stats passive. Am I calling him overpowered? No. However, allowing Galio so much more control over whether his ultimate hits multiple targets could be a bit too much- his E already allows him a speedboost towards where he wants to ult, and his Q allows him to slow multiple enemies (to set up his ult). He already has an AOE taunt+nuke, % damage reduction, and nigh-on-guaranteed healing (via W+ult)- does he really need the ability to dash on top of that?

I'd prefer to give Galio ranged autoattacks or the ability to cast his shield on all friendly targets (rather than only champions).

His cooldowns need to be lowered, they are way too long for the damage, utility, and speed they give. Especially his ult.

His q mana cost is fairly large and easy to dodge.

All just my opinion

Galio needs a dash.

He has strength and weaknesses, but every viable champion right now has only strengths. Remove his weaknesses, please.

how to fix Galio. Reduce his MR by 50%.

I think the point of the ult is to be defensive. He is a protector. Allowing him to dash in would make him too offensive. My biggest wish is to allow his shield to heal whoever it is cast instead of only Galio. An updated passive would be nice. The wind following galio is fun as well.
