I have some questions about ranked play.
So I grinded out of Bronze from b3 and made it to s5.. yay .. then I noticed I was getting matched with players that were b3,4,5 still and lost a crap ton of games (granted I had some bad ones in there myself, but for the most part these players needed a ton of work, wouldn't listen to any instructions, and most of them just didn't care how bad they were). I know I am not a great LoL player, but I was wondering why ,If I got out of Bronze, why am I still in Bronze? I mean I constantly got matched with b3,4 and 5 players.. some have not even won ten games yet. Why have Silver at all if you are still co-oping & competing with people that are a lot lower than you? I mean it makes sense to me that if you are in Silver..you should play with and against Silver players right? Why is this not the case?
Could there be a kind of qualifier system of sorts that players would have to qualify JUST TO GET INTO ranked games? Instead of just sending a ton of really bad players to a "hell", (as they call it) just make everyone qualify on some level to be able to even play at all in ranked games.. I think the competition would be better.. the games would be more evenly matched overall (you'll still get smurfs that are just great at the game, which btw I have learned a lot from playing against and with smurfs, but do feel it messes with the whole ranking sys..if I'm trying to get to silver/gold, I shouldn't be having to prove myself in my series' against plat/challenger players..you know what I mean?, but that's a different subject all together I guess)
Heck I might not even qualify myself to play in ranked, but could improve and keep trying, plus I wouldn't be the guy (or one of the 3-4 guys) feeding, chasing, not warding, having no map awareness and making constant throw plays to ruin others games. I'm ok with that, I know what it feels like to play with people that simply DO NOT BELONG on the same level in ranked that you are in no matter what the ranking says (example: I go 6/4 in my ranked determining matches..had 2 of the losses with an afk, matches that were close and we could have won realistically... I get placed in b3..another player looses all their matches..is very new to the game.(mind you I've been playing since S1)..has no real skill yet in the game...He gets placed b5..I still get matched with this players even after I reach over 100 wins and get to s5...how is that logical at all?) ..and I know whats it like to be that guy when I have a bad game.. either way it's no fun for 5 people play a game out of 10 players. There has to be a way to get rid of this "elo Hell" and properly match players where they belong. I have met some really good, better than myself, players that could not get out of Bronze and I was in Silver at the time. A lot of good support players seem to have a hard time advancing, and they are better than where they are placed.
I also notice most of the players I am playing with have less win % than I do, not sure how that works when I get matched with a player that has 9 total wins out of 26 and 2 positive scores out of all 26 matches?
So could some kind of controlled ranked system work? idk, I just know that it is quite frustrating atm the way it is for us mediocre players when we run into this situation of having to play with a lot of players that just simply do not belong in ranked games.
Yes, guys I know, I'm not as good as you, Yes, I know, I'm just another Bronze player complaining about matchmaking, Yes, I know, I'm not as good as I think I am...anything else lol cuz I know it's coming? eh, sure I'll get a new one.. but I would like to know seriously if this is something that is feasible.. I mean there has to be a better way than the way it is now.. there is always room for improvement. Any thoughts out there about a better way? And is Riot at all concerned about this topic or do they just care about the top tier players? (not saying they only care about top tier...they might, but I just would like to know where they stand on this topic.. I think Riot has done a great job with this game.. I have gotten years of entertainment out of it, I am just wondering what the bigger picture is that they look at, and is this topic a part of it?)
Thanks
