Why not make Rune Pages scale in cost instead of just straight 6300 right off the bat?

Look, we all know rune pages are fricken expensive. In fact, I only have 2 and I don't plan on buying more for a good long time. Why not make them cheap at first, then scale in price?

You get two for free right? Cool, thanks. Let's make the next 2 cheap, like say 2100 IP. Then the next 2 after that are 4200 IP.

This would encourage us to buy rune pages and leave breathing room for Riot's precious profits. Want the rest without waiting? Buy 2 rune page bundles and boom you have all 20 rune pages.

TL;DR I want Rune Pages priced like this:

First 2: Free
Next 2: 2100
Next 2: 4200
The rest: 6300, full price

yes please. I only have 3 rune pages, I don't plan on buying another though I want it. I really want some rune pages for my favorite champion. But I can't. Currently I have 54 champion and there are many champions that I want to buy

"but you already have 54, why not buy rune page?" because buying rune pages doesn't make me enjoy the game even more. It helps me win, but doesn't fill me with enjoyment. Sometimes I am bored with some champions, sometimes I just want to play some champions, sometimes I want to try something new.

Unless the pages' price lowered, then I don't know when I can buy that rune pages. Maybe after I grind 50K for my "list to buy" champion. For the time being, I think I am kinda ok with my generalist rune page :/

Except what do you do with players who have already spent 6300 on each rune page from the start?

I've played for about a year and two thirds. I only own about 40 champions (including all but 1 450ip and most 1350s, i.e. the cheap ones). I do however own 10 rune pages and a fairly decent selection of tier 3 runes.

I prioritized this above champions because they were more important to me. I want to play the champions I have well, not just play more champions poorly.

I'd be infuriated if this was implemented with no compensation. I worked just as hard for my IP as you did and I chose to spend it differently. Why do you get a discount and not me on my future champion purchases?

Not to mention, we get 2 for 1 rune page sales at least yearly. Your minimum price is only marginally better than that, and Riot would surely discontinue the sales if this were to happen. It's a nice idea, but totally unnecessary given what's already in place.

It'd be easier if they were free. Things that you pay should be things that you feel satisfied for paying them. Paying for a number in the top that allows you to make a new combination of some runes you also paid is everything but satisfying.

Do you know how long it takes to buy a 6300 champion and a new rune page and a custom set of runes for that champion? If you want to use ip it takes roughly 200 hours of gameplay according to my math. 200 HOURS.

If you aren't forced to spend all of your ip on runes and rune pages then why would you pay for champs with rp?

If Riot is gonna argue about this preventing them to make money, I have a solution. Increase the prices at later stages, maybe to the point that 6300*18 = however you want the pages to scale. This way the first few pages are actually accessible, but the later ones will require more grinding to make up for the loss in price.

It's similar to how you have 450 champs for beginners then 6300 for the newer and complicated ones. If you want the 450 champs, great! You just have to play a few games. If you want the 6300 champs, then you either grind the fuck out of the game, or pay with RP. With the rune pages, you can have the first few cheap to start off with, but for the last few, it would be much faster to buy them with RP.
