Meta slaves in silver/bronze

I've been seeing a lot of janna and Tristana lately in solo queue and it gets very frusturating when they are only playing the person because they are "in the meta". they constantly feed because they dont know the single thing about playing the person and are just complteley worthless to the team. i can't do anything to stop them from picking them because who knows how good they are with ......? A champion in the "meta" basically guarantees my teammates picking them and going 1/4 in lane before 10 minutes

They aren't meta slaves

Even in pro play, the casters have said numerous of times, Trist now has a power spike with ONE ITEM. That's not an exxagerations. She really is strong with one item

It's mostly because -Early game ADCs like Cait have been nerfed. A cait (pre buff from this patch) actually isn't able to trade that effectively against a trist. -The reworked Dorans shield made it easier for champions like Twitch to survive in lane against tough match ups like Cait. Doran's shield allowed him (before she was nerfed) to take some of her passive's poke while slowly scaling.

Keep in mind, when cait and other early game adcs (Varus/Jhin) got nerfed, it made it much easier for a twitch to survive in lane since Doran's shield stayed the same.

Small changes like these over time just really helped champions that were once considered to have a bad early game to slowly having a decent early game with strong mid-late game

In Pro play, you'll see a Kog beat a Cait in lane...

So no, they aren't meta slaves. They just notice it's more rewarding...
