Leaver Buster System Failure

So i have recently played a ranked match where our top laner (lee Sin) went afk. I just don't understand why when a team clearly has the disadvantage, and you obviously loose because you are out numbered, receives a defeat for the match they most likely can't win. It is unfair to the other players who in reality are trying to play and win. If you have an afk on the team, that match should not count against you or benefit the other team because it just wasn't fair. Something needs to be done very soon about this.

Because if you introduce free loss then everyone will simply do that to avoid a loss or harass someone into leaving. Got a duo queue ona smurf one leaves if it's bad game or champ select etc. This idea has been discussed to death and it's not happening for all the reasons that've already been discussed that show why it's a bad idea and won't happen.

While I don't agree with this something needs to be done about leavers. There are so many of them anymore that it isn't uncommon to see them in 4/5 of your games. I can't speak for ranked but I see leavers all the time. I report them of course but I don't see that actually helping it as a whole.
