Playing mid is SO boring lately.

We all read about how shitty and useless feels these days to play top lane, but... have u played mid lane lately?

Either u play a support champion (Malzahar, galio etc) or u will find urself being shit the whole game.

Doesnt matter if u play safe (mage kind of ahri) and farm, cause eventually ur bot lane will win/lose (doesnt actually matter) and come mid and u will be pushed out of ur own lane as that Tristana appears to farm the whole game with the non-cd statik. This happens around min 10 now and its so frustrating.

When i started playing this game it really felt like u could carry a game playing mid or whatever shit u wanted. Now either u play some shitty champ to empower ur adc or u are useless and outscaled.

BRING BACK THE GAME WE LOVED. TY.

I'm sorry, Malzahar is a support champion? Due to his ult, or what? And who said Bard mid was ever a good idea? Heard of Zed? Yasuo? Katarina? Veigar? Cassiopeia? Ryze? So many good mid picks, not our fault you can't play them. Watch LCS, learn the reason for balancing.

Even when i'm fed af on ahri i still have to depend on my adc to actually win. I'm better off spamming support to climb.

Midlane feels unsatisfying as its powers have essentially become devolved from that lane to botlane. In its current state, midlane is pretty much become shove and roam, kill and roam, or peel. It's exceptionally hard for midlaners to carry like it is for botlaners (ADC and support), and certain champs have esssentially become devoted to PBE.

Shorter lane makes ganks easier to handle. So yeah, it's almost the same shitty state as Top.

Like taking everything from two people, but giving one food stamps.

Although I agree with just about everything you said, one thing I don't.

Galio isn't a support champ. He can play it like other non supports like Malz, Lux, etc but isn't considered as one.

what's boring depends on the person, to me ADC is boring, farm fest all day long until you're strong enough and it's right click all day long yet others love to play ADC

Bard mid is or rather was like discount fiddle mid.

But the main reason midlane has turned out the way it has is because high elo, the moment any "standard" mage turns out to be good their mains turn starting winning at a insane rate.

Koreans and taliyah towards the later half of season 7 for instance, the diamond + midlane mains there apparently all played Taliyah and sometimes only Taliyah to climb, the good ones (several of them) reached 70% winrate and 50+ games played, one i checked on had like 200+ games on taliyah alone and 72% winrate.

That kinda thing is what causes riot to buff counters and do indirect or even direct nerfs to a champ, Cassio and Ryze have been though the same track a number of times, ori as well but she hasn't gotten a lot of direct nerfs if i recall right.

Oh and Azir.

So the moment you see a mage getting nerfed for seemingly no reason you can bet it´s high elo at work.

Only if you make it boring. I'm climbing as Sion mid vs all these malz, azir, zed and yasuo players and I truck them and put the team on my back with my engages. Mid may seem like it is the lane with the biggest agenda/most demand on it's character type, but it really is the lane with the most freedom of choice as far as champ select.

I have so much fun and succes with assasin ahri, and I can carry with her frequently.

I don't get all of this, even with other champions I don't notice this.

I guess it has become a trend now to blame the game for everything. It's apparently acceptable behaviour for top lane already. Thanks to hashinshin. Can't take long until mid follows.

I mean what seperates you from the cliché bronze noob that we know since the beginning of ranked? You develope the exact same habbit of blaming everything around you but never yourself. Sure, you have the convenience of lots of poeple with the same attitude upvoting your rants. But even with a million upvotes it's still the same thing and I will always be there to question it. :)

Coming from an Ahri main Ahri feels extremely bad to play against these days. I used to be able to solo mid and still be able to carry, but now when i rarely play her I feel sad that she just kept getting nerfed again and again that i just gave up. BRING BACK ASSASIN AHRI

I agree. I miss playing my Ahri Lissandra Diana . They are all weak and all very low impact in this meta due to personal nerfs and AP items being garbo.

They only mids I have left are Zoe Zyra and Zoe is probably going to get Azir'ed with all the baseless complaints she always gets from bad players failing to just git gud.

hey, i mean everyone has their own experiences. I'm having mild success mid helping carry. I feel far from useless while the ADC is the main carry i do feel i'm a reason he's carrying in the first place.

Well no one wants to take risks because of how bursty everything is. The fact that Riot didn't consider this as a potential consequence when they removed flat armor and mr runes is frankly embarrassing.

idk about u but i still have fun and i feel like i have an impact when i play mid, blaming everything on the ad being op currently is fine and all but you can play around it like trying to pressure other areas on the map, create your own 9/0 monstrous Camille top by camping her, or just 3v2 shut them down and FTB

This has more to do with you not being good at mid rather than mid sucking. Don't blame mid if you're unable to have any impact.

Two exceptions:

Assassins
The few mages that got updated so they can keep up better with the crapshow that flies around these days:
1 subclass of "roaming" mages.

I don't think support mages are that dominant though. Malz especially, since he got nerfed really hard

Idk I like playing mid, it's the perfect meta for me. Ryze, azir, cassio, veigar are all good and my most played, and I wanna learn Zoe as well. Sadly I don't have much time to play.
