Why does Jax autoattack during Couterstrike?

It's not intuitive and does not make sense thematically. The only reason to keep this in is to provide hidden power. It's everything Riot professes to hate.

Because a counterstrike in reality is to hit your opponent back.

He does do that, in the end. Meanwhile he is twirling his lamppost, and you are taking damage with no visual indication. I mean, at least mention it in the tooltip or something.

He is twirling a lamppost. If you're standing next to the lamppost, you will be hit. I would assume thats common sense. The final hit is just the the finisher.

Maybe they need to just fix the animation, but remember that this animation is almost 5 years old so technology has been changed

Ummm did you see him autoattacking while spinning? No you didn't. Now that defines a true Grandmaster at Arms.

imagine if he had a real weapon

Yasuo ult is named "Last Breath" yet nobody dies by default at the end of it.

Doesn't make sense thematically.

WW's Infinite Duress actually lasts a few seconds.

Leap Strike doesn't strike unless the target is hostile.

Requiem doesn't necessarily kill anyone.

Aatrox doesn't fly, let alone darkly.

Volibear's Rolling Thunder has nothing to do with lightning and his Majestic Roar isn't a roar.

A turbo only works on internal combustion engines, so "turbo shock rockets" are not a thing.

A dredge line doesn't have an anchor at the end.

The lore says you can refuse Kalista's bond.

Zap scales with AD and Arcanopulse scales with AP.

This fascinated me too when i discovered it because a friend of mine tried him once.

0 sense in it, should be canceled, he is dodging and the animation doesn't show a bit of him attacking.

For the ones saying that "counterstrike is meant to hit you back" well it does it in the end, doesn't mean he should AA you while invulnerable.

Jax would be terrible without being able to auto attack during counterstrike.

The benefit of ending counterstrike early is an earlier stun, there is already a reason to end it before the time is up. (Although you probably shouldn't because the mitigation is generally better than the stun.)

Unless they made counterstrike basically ignore all damage to compensate

He gets free damage reduction and can still attack full force... that explains a lot.

Jax is an awful designed stats ball with a completely binary playstyle. He is one of the few characters that can actually win a duel smashing at the same time Q, W, E and R. It's a pitty because he has a very interesting art design and so much potential. Please, make something interesting to Jax in order to be a skillful character with options to use with in duels and skirmishes. Here is a perfect example how Jax should be.
