The Current State of Top Lane and Assassins in The Game - What're Your Thoughts?

In an earlier Red Post, Riot was talking about how the state of the top lane was "a much bigger issue" that would require multiple patches to balance. I can't recall when the post was given, other than in the past week before 5.1, but as examples given Riot mentioned the power of Teleport, and the power ranged champs have over melee ones there.

If a Red sees this, could there then be some more elaboration upon these issues such as why top lane is a big issue in the first place, or any specific things that have been observed?

Also, we know from the 5.1 notes that Zed will get what's coming to him Trademark Soon, but are there other assassins that stand out? I know Akali was mentioned, but anything like the champs that always get banned in low ELO?

ALSO ALSO, what are YOUR thoughts on the state of top lane and assassins - you, the whoever comes across this?

My two cents: Top lane doesn't seem too glaring a problem (but there might be something underneath), and some of the assassins have a bit too much baked into them (25% bonus AD on a Zed with maxed Living Shadow? Woohoo, late game mastery...)
