Twitch Ultimate - Rat-a-tat-tat Not Damaging Nexus-- Not intuitive and causes losses.

KidDizaster·10/21/2014, 3:10:16 AM·58 votes·5,480 views

I understand that Twitch's ult does not deal damage to the nexus for balance purposes (EDIT- Or it appears it may be a bug, it seems I was misinformed). But there needs to be some alert to Twitch players that this is the case so they do not go in for the win with their ult and then deal no damage! Last game our Twitch tried to sneak the nexus and would have been able to kill it with regular auto attacks, but tried to ult to destroy it due to not knowing about this mechanic/bug. Because of this we lost the game. This mechanic/bug is completely not intuitive and causes frustration for players who do not know about it.

It's not for balance purposes to my knowledge, it's a long standing bug. It used to affect the inhibitors, but they fixed that some time ago.

Riot knows that and doesn't care. This argument has existed since his ult was put into the game and nothing is ever done about it. Riot doesn't care about it.

This reminds me of an LCS or challenger promotion series game I watched where a Lucian player was trying to finish off the nexus and triggered his ult. The announcers noted in horrified tones that the culling doesn't do any damage to buildings. He was killed before he could finish killing the nexus. I believe that his team went on to win anyway, but it was pretty painful to watch.

Its a technical limitation that has been in the game for 4 years http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?p=3607838#3607838

No, it is by technical limitation. We'd have to get an engineer to re-code Inhibitors / Nexuses for this to be fixed I believe. -Riot statikk

Hopefully with the new graphical and technical update to the rift they'll look at this.

I actually won a game because of this bug. Twitch tried to backdoor and had to pop ult to kill the person who went to stop him, so he couldn't damage the Nexus while we took theirs.

just let twitch press R again to cancel his ult if they cant fix the coding

I would say now Twitch has been nerfed substantially we might as well give him this.

god bless

what if they just reduce (technically boost since it's currently 0) the damage it does to normal levels?

Juggernaut Jesus10/22/2014, 2:43:32 AM1 votes

Didn't they prevent his R from doing damage to the nexus and inhibs because he could target the towers and damage the inhib/nexus?

Its a bug, It's not intended to do that; at any way is this balancing at all. Think about it, if Vayne can ult and do damage to the Nexus, why can't Twitch do it?

They still havent fixed this on aram.

If you're at a point where you're damaging the Nexus, Twitch's ult not doing extra damage to the nexus is no excuse for losing.

I think you can kill inhibs with it, just not nexus turrets. This is one thing I don't understand. It doesn't notify you anywhere to my knowledge and the only time I've learned is by doing it myself and then talking about it with other people. I feel the ability is similar to Jinx/Kog ranged increases so I'm not too sure why it can't affect the nexus, ESPECIALLY when it hits other things like turrets/inhibs. I mean I'm fine if they don't want it to, I'd just rather they clarify it or invent some bs reason why it can/can't.

Knowledge is a skill. It's fine.
