No More Level Advantages, No More Item Advantages.
How many times have you lost a team fight, or more noticeably a 1v1 because your enemy had a few levels on you? Probably lots of times. How many times have you lost a team fight, or more noticeably a 1v1 because your enemy had an item advantage on you? Probably lots of times.
One of the biggest parts of a MOBA game is centered around balanced game play for both sides. What i mean is that one side shouldn't have any sort of unfair advantage over another....
League of legends is arguably the best MOBA to date because of how balanced the game is. However, it is not without is faults....After all, RIOT still does regular balance changes doesn't it?
I believe that the two single biggest unbalancing factors in the league of legends, are the fact that levels exist, thus making one character stronger because of base stats, and the fact that you get stronger with items; some characters end up having more items, thus more power, at a given time in any given game.
I have talked with many people about what i think, and a big opposition to it is that "well they earned the advantage, and just because they have an advantage doesn't mean you cant win the game" another is "its a team game, so you can just rely on your team for help", or something along those lines.......Here is what i say to that....

Okay, so you outplayed your opponent, and you have thus earned an item/level advantage. If you are truly better than your opponent, then you should be able to beat them again and again WITHOUT needing to rely on any advantage you already have for_ whatever reason you have it_ for example, you got a lot of successful ganks, or your enemy's internet went down for 10 minutes, or whatever the situation may be...maybe they just got countered, or maybe you are just plain better than your opponent.

While it is true that you can beat opponents that have an advantage over you, my two questions are: Did they ever deserve to have an advantage over you in the first place if you can ever beat them while they** do** have an advantage over you, and is it in any sense of the word, actually balanced game-play when that takes place?

So its a team game and you rely on team cooperation to win...guess what...there is another team with the same amount of people who is also cooperating to win!, and if the enemy team has built up an advantage, they have the possibility of winning a fight off of raw amounts of greater power!, not because they actually were outplaying their opponents. Think about this hypothetical scenario for a second; There are two teams on summoners rift, Your team is the exact same as the enemy team...all the champions are the same, everyone on your team is level 6, everyone on the enemy team is level 7, you are at mid lane, there are no minions, your team has zero items, and every player on the enemy team has one fully built item, also lets say that every player in the game has the exact same amount of mechanical and cooperative skill. the fight starts...which team do you think will win? go ahead, take a bet...you will probably win some money on that bet.
Like i said, league is great, but its not perfect. I think these couple things cause bigger problems than most people realize, and i also think that if the game were changed to work around these problems, it would be a great help. For example, make it so that every character leveled up at the same rate throughout the whole game, and make it so that all gold was generated at the same rate. No more farming for money, just farming to push, and no more killing for gold, just killing to push. That way there would be more of a standard on how your character progressed throughout the game. Of course these things are an important part to the way the game has always been played, but i think that striving for better balanced game-play in every game is more important than tradition.
