PTT benefits to the game

What i'm talking about is a Push To Talk (PTT) system that is integrated into the game.

The counterarguments to this are such as player toxicness, and the fact that there are 3rd party programs you can use already to chat with others in-game. let me explain to you why those arguments don't hold up to a little logical reasoning...

1...The benefits outweigh the downsides, Okay?, like really. the strategic improvement and depth of game would increase, plain and simple. The universal ability to verbally communicate with team-mates and not have to waste precious time with typing outweighs the downside of having to press tab and click one freaking button to mute someone when you think they are obscene, annoying, or rude.

If you think that league is a family and kid game(which it is), and that the small minority of people who would be rude and MEAN would be destroying the core value of the game, or the innocence of little kids and families, first off, you are just plain incorrect. Second, you should take your political correctness, and throw it in the trash where it belongs. like cmon, really? dealing with an asshole here and there isn't a big deal at all...especially when this feature would greatly improve the game. In fact, i whole-hardheartedly believe that the amount of toxicness in players would decrease if this feature was implemented; Psychologists would agree. When you can actually hear the person on the other end, its not so easy to be a dick like it is when you are just typing rude and insulting things into a chatbox. When you can hear the sincerity in someones voice as they apologize after a mistake, do you think you are more or less inclined to be insulting, or constructive?, as opposed to when you are just sending typed words onto a screen after you see the mistake they made, and want to complain about it??? The answer is that you are more inclined to be constructive. there are psychological reasons for this that you can research into if you don't believe me.

2...The player base would rather have an automatic system which is already there than go download curse, or something like that. If you think the majority of players would rather search for and download any 3rd party system with limited users (not everyone downloads and uses curse) than have a fully integrated system right there in the game, then i think that you are wrong, and that you need to reevaluate your life decisions, kinda likeVayne

Another argument could be that not everyone wants to talk to people, and they don't want to have to constantly be muting people. If that is you, then great!, you can go into the settings and turn the voice chat feature off at your convenience!, and then you don't have to listen to the rest of us who want to really improve apon our strategic potential...

Yet another one that some might bring up is the whole ping issue; that if we have a voice chat system, that we would all have ping problems. I seriously doubt the current servers don't have a little room for some audio bandwidth, and if it is the case, and a voice chat system would create ping issues, then i think it would behoove riot to invest a little more into their servers, because that $#!+ would be ridiculous. Riot is all about improving game quality and balance right? and Riot is an extremely profitable company at the present, right? So how hard is it for Riot to pay it forward and improve the servers??? Not hard.

That is pretty much all i have for now; once i see some counterarguments i will likely add onto this post, but for now, thats what i got without going into unnecessary detail

Let me know what you guys think in the Polls, and if you disagree, please comment why you disagree, so i can give some counterargument. Thanks for reading and have a good one.Draven

Two reasons I don't want voice comms in the game.

  1. It's more overhead with regard to bandwidth that Riot would have to shoulder; meaning they would have to invest more in architecture than they already do.
    • This could lead to less being invested in content creation, updates, etc as they are emptying the piggy bank on just keeping everything running.
  2. Eliminates the "opt in" idea for voice comms - right now we can use Curse easily in our games and immediately join with our team mates, but don't have to.
    • I don't play Counter-Strike Source anymore because the amount of screaming kids on voice chat, or music spamming jackasses were actually common, not special case. I don't want to have to mute people every game.
