Rerouting Kled ult and some discussion points
Welcome, I have 3 things to talk about: rerouting Kled ult, Kled's Ult, Kled's E range, Interaction of dashes with flash.
Rerouteing Kled ult: I just found this feature where Kled is able to reroute his ultimate. it works as follows:
- Ult anywhere you want
- Use smite on a target that is not on your route but not in range That's it.
Some gameplay video's: https://vid.me/LNcu https://vid.me/Gqun
A minor issue is that the smite range is slightly larger than his ult-dash range. That means when you select a target, you will charge up to them and only smite, (often) continuing your charge to your original set location. If this set location is placed well, slightly behind them, Kled will charge further but will immediately encounter his smited opponent. It seems that Kled will also jump when your target is moving towards you.
With this technique you will be able to charge from top or base to bot with your ult and smite.(it wears off after a certain time limit) You are also now able to ult toplane more safely because your smite command will cause you to go to the location where your target was last seen, which is often in that brush.
Kled's Ult: Currently His ult is a really cool, thematic ability, but it is simply so easy to negate it all together. I have been several time top against a Kled who ulted into lane from a good distance. All I had to do is walk into a brush... And even if you think you are smart and ult deliberately in that brush, they can just walk to the side or to their own turret.
It is just too easy to prevent it. I think it is good when you have some counter play but this almost removes the viability of a long range ultimate. In team fights there is another form of counter play, which I think is better, an enemy team member can stop your charge.
Using this ability in skirmishes is way more effective because your chance to hit is almost guaranteed. Ulting 1000 for units is certainly not uncommon, but his ultimate has a range of 3500/4000/4500 and therefore his ult is not used as it is supposed to be used, or at least not the way you imagined a "Chaaaaaaaarge!!!".
This new smite mechanic probably relieves some of this first part of prevention. This, however, is not easy to do, it requires good and strategic targeting of your smite and there is a good chance of failure especially when used cross-map. Bot is probably significantly easier to do this on. Do not forget that It requires you to have smite and in most cases a junglers item. Which therefore locks you out of teleport and another good synergetic item. Riot can do a few things:
- Disable Kled and remove it entirely or partially (rerouteing possible but not cross-map).
- Leave it as it is and make it an official trick on Kled
- Embrace this and increase to jump range of Kled's ult and therefore lowering the fail chance drastically. I am eager to see what they will do.
Kled's E range: Kled's reactivation E has a range, if you move past it, your E will be unable to recast your E and it will go on cooldown. I would like an indicator of this range, because currently it little to no clarity that this range is in the game. I want to play around it and use my E after Riven used hers, not before.
Interaction of dashes with flash: We all know the dash-flash combo's of certain champions, Gragas, Sejuani, Shen, Vi, Camille, Jarvan and even Tryndamere and Rengar, to name most of them. If we take some other example of champions that could theoretically interact with flash, we get Kled's E and Renektons E. Both Kled and Renekton are unable to preform this trick. Whereas Kled's combo just does not hit his target, Renekton is entirely unable to cast spells during his dash.
So Riot, please clean up the interaction of dash with a flash. Let me be able to E Flash into the enemy and get that reset. It is not as game-breaking as most of the other champions mentioned, because they get instant CC, this is just a reset.
If there are any questions, I will gladly reply to them.
