Why's Nobody Talking About The Alistar Rework?

10/18 PBE Update: Nine new skins, Assassin Update, Pre-season changes, New Items, and much more!

Guys, Alistar is getting a rework too.

#BIG CHANGES: Triumphant Roar (Passive): Alistar gains a Triumps stack when he stuns or displaces enemy champions or nearby enemies die. At 7 stacks Alistar Roars, healing himself for [20 + 7 per level] and his nearest ally champion for [40 + 14 per level] (3 second cooldown). Alistar cannot gain Triumph stacks while Triumphant Roar is on cooldown. The death of enemy champions and epic monsters fully charges Alistar's roar.

Trample (E): Cooldown: 16/15.5/15/14.5/14 Mana cost: 50/60/70/80/90 "Alistar tramples the ground, dealing 100/125/150/175/200 (+40% AP) magic damage over 5 seconds to nearby enemies and gaining a Trample stack if he damage an enemy champion. At 5 Trample stacks Alistar empowers his next basic attack against an enemy champion to deal an additional [50 + 10 per level] magic damage and stun for 1 second."

Everyone's too busy talking about Assassin reworks and they've forgotten the good ol' Ali.

Also, seeing as the new mastery is amazing on Alistar, I can see Alistar becoming a pretty good jungler. Thoughts?

We can milk Assassins for all they are worth, but we can't milk Alistar.

wink wink

I'm not so sure about that, his trample does a bit more damge, but he can use it less often. And trample only stack agaisnt champions so he won't get extra damage in the jungle there either.

Heal is reduced by a lot and he can use it less. And he currently needs that to Jungle.

Also considering he heals himself less now and his ally more, he became less of a tank as well.

I feel like he will still be better played as Support since his new Passive heals the nearest ally for a ton more than it heals himself.

If he becomes a good jungler he will gtet nerfed pretty hard, Riot has said numerous times that he doesn;t want Alistar to be a good jungler because of how oppresive/reliable his ganks are.

I've been playing Alistar, since season four in almost every role.

The rework will actually be a nerf to jungle Alistar. Part of what made him okay in the jungle is that his sustain wasn't completely garbage. With the new passive, he won't be able to sustain nearly as well. The old passive also made up for a lot of his damage in the jungle. I could see him being a more viable AP top laner now, but it seems like he'll remain a support.
