So, who is in charge of the Skarner rework. I'm Diamond 3 with a 6.6 KDA over 133 games on skarner.

I want to know why you think skarner needs some convoluted crystal mechanic in order to be a unique champion. Who do you think skarner plays most similarly to? Why is he even slated for a rework? You said he's too much of a run at you champion.... meanwhile Hecarim exists... and he takes ghost over flash.

I feel your pain though. I really do. At least they are trying to make him better on the PBE, unlike the abomination that is the Morde rework.

They aren't making skarner better. They're adding convoluted mechanics because they don't think he's unique enough, which is something that no one who actually has played skarner substantially feels.

I've never played or even bought Skarner, but I already feel like he's kind of unique, especially in comparison to most champions.

i really don't think he's unique they just gave him a worse version of braum passive in his last rework then gave his a generic slow and movement speed buff he does need some unique ness and the changes are in a good direction but the execution is pretty bad

Honestly, it feels like you're changing him based on his pick rate and nothing else. His pick rate will always be low because his defining mechanic (his ult) is most strong against uncoordinated teams. And people only pick champions with blinks/dashes or high pick rates in LCS. Skarner has no blink or dash, and LCS teams should be coordinated enough to punish him for trying to ult. He will never have a high pick rate. The rework you have planned will only lower his pick rate.

If it makes you feel any better, i have espectated many PBE games and Skarner looks pretty strong.

Not that i am a big fan of the crystal thing, but he isnt bad and still has a buttload of movement speed. Maybe you missed the most recent changes?

Skarner uses MS to close gaps and stay on people. Now someone needs to die, or the fight needs to be in an specific place.

Also I'm not a fan of buffing skarner either. He's in a place where his balance is pretty good, if he's buffed now, he's going to be nerfed later since his ult is an un-CCable moveable suppression.

Righteous glory should be an early rush.

Make picks, roam the map and in teamfights after you make a pick just run into the enemy team and disrupt as many people as possible.

Pretty much every jungle item works on skarner right now. FH is good for CDR + armor. Banshees can eat up CC. Wits end is also pretty good, and of course locket is a strong pick.

Triforce is the best offensive item if you don't get runeglaive, but your main goal is to absorb damage and be obnoxious. W has a relatively low cd, you can probably get it off 2-3 times in a fight.
