New Players in silver ranked matches

So, as we all know. When u rank a new account u play ur placements in silver. Most people who come through on a new account have no idea how to play, especially since riot made the exp requirement lower. I've had many games in low gold and throughout silver with this problem. One team will have a couple new players with 40 cs at 20 minutes walking in the forest doing nothing, and the other team usually be mowing down towers, close to ending the game.

This is a serious problem Riot should address because it makes games uncompetitive and ruins the quality of a match. The point of matchmaking should be to match two teams with similar levels of skill, but having people who know nothing about the game, who spam warwick with infinity edge, does not meet this goal (or at least I hope its riots goal).

Don't get me wrong. I know I'm garbage myself. I'm in silver for a reason, but I would like to play at least somewhat competitive matches. I want to have fun playing against people of a similar skill level.

Riot, please address this problem by using a player's MMR from normals to determine where they play their placement matches.

Don't be so harsh on yourself dude Silver may be bad yes however you're not the lowest tier are you? Being in silver shows that there is still hope for you to climb and better yourself Being in bronze means you need work otherwise that's where you'll be for the next while

Really and truly riot should check ## of normal games won and the average MMR for the player and match these guys together Not just say OH lets place them with random people who are trying hard to climb

Riot already does that. Your normals MMR is transported over to ranked when you first play ranked. However, from then on it runs separately from norms.

If thats the case, there needs to be an adjustment to the normals MMR when it is transferred because it isnt matching the skill of the players they are being matched with in ranked.

Dude I play Solo mostly and the player skill team to team is so vast its crazy. Yesterday, as long as one other lane won besides mine we were able to win. Didn't win them all but there wasn't too much going on.

Today, holy fucking shit I can't seem to get more than 1 good game out of 3. I'm not talking about "trash teammates all their fault I lose"; I'm talking just game after game of people being ugly to each other or just refusing to coordinate.

I'm no epic player either. My point is yesterday felt pretty even and not many people were being toxic or trying to 1v3 every fight, and today I might as well be trying to climb out of bronze again with how the people have been acting.

Silver shouldn't be a default placement for first time rank accounts. Smurfs and boosting teams are bad enough. At the very least if the enemy is a premade smurf/boosting team I dont want to be matched, as a solo player, with someone who just placed silver 4 or 5 and is destined for demotion quickly because they're new.
