[Solution] How to solve the Lane Smite issue.

Cupkek··2 votes·690 views

Make it so taking Smite forces you to but a Hunter's Machete as your first item. Example: Taking Smite reduces your starting gold by 400, but you spawn with a machete. Machete cannot be sold or refunded.

This would make it so Junglers can have their normal start and Laners have to suffer the consequences of taking a stat-less item (looking at you, Ezreal).

For it to be a solution, there must first be a problem.

Riot, to the best of my knowledge, is fine with Smite being taken by laners, so long as it doesn't crowd out other options. The laners that take Runeglave are Ezreal and Gangplank... I somehow don't think that's crowding out other options. Contrast it to when top laners were taking Smite for Cinderhulk, and you'll notice that this is far less widespread.

i need to admit as far as such a position from riot is fine they seriously never think about the future ... just patching what problems arise now and dont care about consequences

lane smite is all k ... but when it comes to ballancing jungle all the changes that could be beneficial for a big pool of junglers are basicaly a direct buff to certain chamions

i dont think that is the right mindset ... riot should focus on keeping the game ballanced and reduce the chances of some random stuff poping up and possibly becoming op we already had that in the past ... old ad champions were given good ap ratios on skills that werent meant to scale well ... so ap trynda and ap yi entered the game with all the abusiveness they could have

and to add to the mix ... rune glaive isnt considered that good of an item ... so it seem probable it will get buffs that might actualy push guys like ez and gp over the ledge

As a pre 30 player that only plays bots, I saw a drastic reduction in functionality with my Nidalee (my only jungle champion). The magus blade had better AP which was good for her cougar form which is no mana. The runeglaive simply did not pan out, and I think it might even interfere with her Lich's Bane since they both have spellblades. Magus was 80 AP and 20% CDR. Rune is 40AP and 10% CDR. It's just... mreh.

1 less nidalee is a + for me

from the wiki:

Notes: In the event you own multiple spellblade items, only one attack bonus applies, to which the order of priority is: Lich Bane, Runeglaive, Trinity Force, Iceborn Gauntlet, then Sheen.

Every change will end up being a buff to certain champions and a nerf to others, whether they mean to do it or not. Also, The way riot does things (having patches/releases at pretty consistent intervals), they cant cover EVERY possible idea that every player could come up with ever, thats not reasonable.

no they cant and i dont even ask them to what i ask for is the changes being dedicated to their recievers

by making rune glaive cinderhulk and other stuff that junglers needed basicaly a free power ... they entered the area where ballancing those items has certain risks to it because jungle demands ... but sating jungler's might push those items onto lanes becuase they are cheaper and offer more

and riot was aware of that ... the thing that i consider bad is not that they cant contain the chaos ... but that they chose not to even try

they implement what they want into this game ... and then just stick a bandaid to the points where the game breaks instead of simply implementing changes that dont pose such a threat to the game's ballance

What lane smite issue?

The solution to lane smite are jungle items that are beneficial to junglers and awful to laners.

Runeglaive basically buffed 3-4 junglers that weren't bad in the first place - while nerfing the rest of them - and just as many champions can abuse Runeglaive in lane.

I like the idea, but that only stops the super early stages of the game for him (first 5-8 minutes if hes doing decent), cause then he gets the item anyhow. yea its a hit to this strat, but i think we can really screw him out of mid with that item. Mind you I think they should just not allow any champ that isnt tagged by riot with "jungler" or whatever the tag is, to not even be allowed to take smite, or touch any jungle related items in the first place. I highly doubt they will use my idea though because it ruins "flexibility" in team comps, and overall fun in general.

Then how am I supposed to do weird junglers?

Did you quote me without actually reading what i typed and just happened to luck out that it actually made sense? I explained why they wouldnt do it. "I highly doubt they will use my idea though because it ruins "flexibility" in team comps, and overall fun in general."

There is no problem with laners taking smite, especially for mid. Ezreal with smite is actually quite bad, its not anything good, its just a trend. If you take smite on ezreal mid and go runeglaive you are taking a worse version of lichbane, you don't fully benefit from the mana sustain because most of the time your raptors are going to be down, you get less damage than lichbane because of the 30% ap scaling instead of the 50% ap scaling, and you don't have heal or ignite. As for top laners this would hinder them deeply, the smite/tp meta is fairly healthy because you get a relatively fair trade, one summoner for 25% bonus hp and more objective control, but you don't have flash or ignite.
