Why are we stuck waiting 5 days for the lunar skins? Sylas was just released and his Lunar skin is available. What is the point in making them not purchasable for 5 days even though they are completed and implemented in this patch? I've been waiting a year for Lux's lunar chroma.
The Lunar New Year doesn't start until Feb 5th. So they're launching closer to that date. Sylas is an exception because Lunar Wraith is his launch skin.
Lunar Revel events coincide with the Chinese New Year (aka the Lunar New Year). Riot makes a big deal about the Chinese New Year because they are owned by Tencent, a Chinese conglomerate. That's also why a lot of the old assets have been replaced by the Chinese versions.
While the Chinese New Year is on February 5th, preparations begin on January 28th. Riot probably didn't want to release Chinese New Year skins almost 2 weeks early, but aligning with the traditional prep time is fine.
