First time using "Updated" Sion.
OK so, I never post on the forums usually but, I played Sion today for the first time since he was updated in 2014. I noticed some things about him that made me wonder and ask myself "Why would they do this?" as well as think "Wow this is awesome!". So I suppose I will start with the Cons as they are the main reason I am posting. Perhaps I am just a lowly noob and am pointing out something that is not as bad as I think due to my poor mechanics however, on the off chance that I am not, maybe riot would be willing to make it right and implement a change.
I will start with his Q. The move itself is not bad. What I do not understand is why it has such a long charge time with a area indicator that tells the enemy basically to not be in it. The reason I believe this is in poor taste is because it's completely useless in lane unless you're fighting someone who simply doesn't care about it or know what they are doing at all. The charge time is so long that even if they were standing directly in front of you, they would not only have plenty of time to walk out of it without boots but, also to turn and shoot you multiple times or walk behind you and start beating you in the face. Aside from that, once you cast his Q you can't break the cast. So if you're standing there casting and if they do decide to turn and hit you in the face or stand behind you after they leisurely walk out of cast range, you literally can't do any counter play to try and stop it. It makes ganks really easy as well. The damage isn't even that great to compensate for it. Sion builds are almost always tanky and I understand that the the reason they most likely did it was because of the ulti stun length as well as the stun his Q gives off. My problem is, even if you do manage to hit someone with Q, there are zero ways to capitalize on it unless all you moves are off cooldown and even then you probably won't kill them because if you are solo laning most likely, you are building tank. I just don't understand how they ever expected him to be a legitimately playable champ anywhere but solo Q Blind Pick or Aram. on top of all that, his move speed just seems especially slow, which means along with his Q he is probably the easiest champ in the game to Kite. In all honesty, I loved the rest of his Kit. It was a lot of fun and it was different. They did a great job with visuals and making him unique as well as maintaining his original Sion feel. Riot wants the champions to be balanced but, I do not feel Sion has not been given justice. He has no place in any lane atm that someone else can't do better and quicker. That isn't balance. Well that's pretty much all I had to say. If anyone has some of the same concerns, feel free to comment. Would greatly appreciate a Red response.
