Question about dealing with LeBlanc

TyrekGoldenspear··1 votes·298 views

Hey boards, I'm a Brand main that plays mid a lot, and while I can usually deal with most of my opponents pretty well or its a skill lane, I have serious issues with LeBlanc.

I know that she's a poor farmer under tower, but when I push the lane she jumps over my minions to burst me to half health or less or sets up a killer gank. But if I ignore and farm under tower she can roam and pick up kills elsewhere.

So is there a special balance between offense and defense that will help me win this lane? Or at the least keep a lid on her and keep her from snowballing?

One more question, is rushing Abyssal Scepter a good idea against her?

Leblanc is an assassin. With that being she thrives when ahead, especially vs mages like against something like Brand. Playing leblanc myself, I can suggest playing passive. If you think you can land W+E for harass go for it. But if you would rather W E for waveclear keep in mind, leblanc is a champion who works around enemies and them using abilities. So say you used W to wave clear she has two options to try and cs the wave or get aggressive. Sometimes its best to not use abilities vs Leblanc, thus silencing your self until she gets aggressive with something QW and If your quick on the keys, EQW her if she gets aggressive and AA for last hits. But because she has poor waveclear, clearing the wave as brand and aiding your team can help immensely. If you clear the wave don't stick around, she will gap close to harass you. Brand struggles vs gap closers, but I have seen brands destroy leblanc landing phase and throughout the game. And I've seen brands make it out of the landing phase without giving her a kill. You like to build standard brand, Rylais Liandrys. You can always go that route. Its a lot health, if she isn't ahead I doubt she will be able to burst through that. Abyssal scepter rush is legit, only mitigates her DMG, but if she's ahead like she was in your recent brand game, its negligible.

TL;DR if you push, don't overextend at all. Try helping other lanes until The minions in lane is back towards you or somewhere safe. If you freeze towards your tower last hit minions until she gets aggressive, try to harass her when she gets to close. If she Q's back up so she can't W. If She looks like she wants W, Back up. Then W her starting location hopefully she blinks back into it. Good Luck :)

Oh wow, this was really useful, thanks!

I'm going to do what you suggested, go with my standard route, but play super safe till six.

Then I mega push the wave and then roam bot to gank with my ult while waiting for the wave to come back.

Fortunately I'm quick enough to E Q her after she jumps to me, the issue was that before I would W E to harras her and only partially kill the wave, then when she jumps at me my q gets bodyblocked by a minion.

Now I'm going to mostly last hit, saving my burst for when she gets aggressive.

Thanks for the information, I read every bit of it. :D

One more question: Barrier is the best summoner spell against her right?

Exhaust is your best bet when dealing with her, since it cuts her MAgic resist she would think twice before fighting you head on. She will do less damage to you in those 2.5sec and you'll do more damage to her.

Oh okay. Never would have thought of exhaust, but now that I think about it, it could work.

I main both Brand and Leblanc, personally it's really about forcing her to all in, since you can outdamage her if done correctly. It's a skill match but she has the upper edge, E Q is your best bet when trading with her W but you gotta be quick or Pre-E then Q. A Pre-E is when you E a champion out of your E range because the moment she W the E will be executed all you need to do is press Q and then W her old location.

Ah I see, I've done similar tricks with different champs bit never knew what it was called. Thanks a lot!

Make sure to Ult Last soo when her clone pop up you'll obliterate her because of the ult bouncing on her.

Most LBs are too smart for that though :(

When her passive pops, they both run in opposite directions so my ult can't bounce, but thanks for the tip.

My build with Brand, item 3174 item 3001 item 3151 item 3116 item 3089 oritem 3135.

Athene is insanely Cheap you can get it and sell it late game for Morello. The Magic Resist and the passive sustain is unbelivable on brand. Brand has a huge base damage output soo while having crap scaling.

Nice, I might try in case I'm against heavy burst. What's the build order?

you play zed or talon .

TyrekGoldenspear1 votes

Eh, probably Zed. He has better poke and can at least ult out of existence when LB comes to take names.

Talon is largely a sitting duck after he blinks though, but thanks for the tip :^)

her cds are low so you never know.

anyway if you play zed buy maw wait for her to use her 2 dashes and then just all in her.

Zed is LEblanc Hardest counter because his main combo synergize with her W, She W you E Throw W at her old location and Q. You'll pretty much 70% her with one combo.
