Kalista is NOT "OP"

Honestly it's a damn shame that every time a new champion comes out the board is filled with people crying and complaining about how "OP" the champion is. And people still complain about certain champions being OP.

"wow relly kat? r to win? nice noob" "yi needs nerf srsly he so fast"

All of these have simple counters. Some champions are MADE to duel, like Warwick for example. You can't really duel against a WW (unless you have insane burst damage that's constant) because he will just lifesteal off of you, does that make him OP? No. Because 2 people can take him down fairly easy.

Katarina seems to be a big problem for everyone, you simply bait her ult and then stun her... I mean... is it really that hard?

So forth. So forth.

Kalista is STUCK until she gets off her animation, if you see her picked in a DRAFT or RANKED, you simply pick people with CC. "dood how can i lend skill shots on dat?" Boy I sure wish there were champions with stuns that aren't skill shots... (Taric, Annie, Malzahar (ult) etc. etc.)

Anyone else have any thoughts on this? I seriously don't think Kalista is OP at all, especially at the start of the game.

Ya, played a Braum game against a Kalista... it was fun landing all my Q's :) As for being OP, I'm really not sure. I think I would like to see the knock up of her ult changed to a stun, though. Other than that, I see her getting some competitive play, but I think Lucian, Corki, Jinx and the like will still dominate.

her kit has the potential to be incredibly powerful, but i think it's balanced pretty well right now

she has to be in auto attack range to get her passive dash, and that dash is pretty damn short until she gets t2 boots. i didnt have any issues killing kalistas last night on Riven and I got shit on pretty hard by a morgana in lane when i tried her personally. it's really difficult to dodge skillshots without boots, especially since you can't cancel the auto once you've started it. morgana would just wait for the auto animation and then aim in the direction i chose to jump.

I have yet to loose a lane against her. The only game I went negative was due to my team feeding her and a riven camping bot for her. I find Vayne and Caitlyn both wreck her. Even more fun is a Caitlyn and Azir bot lane. There is so much poke you can deny her cs. I kept her at 12 cs in the first 12 minutes. As for Vayne, her move speed passive allows you to just chase her down, stun her with a good support, stun her again with Vayne and she is dead.

I do look forward to getting Kalista though. She seems like she would have some good potential if you get a good adc behind her.

I agree she is well balanced as is right now. Even skill shots are easy to land when she is aa or just predicting her jump.

She is actually not THAT op. Kalista is easily counterable and super squishy, making her delicious food for you the moment you land a stun. The only reason that she is considered OP is because of her attack range with her passive, making it hard to land thresh and blitzcrank grabs, which is living hell for kalista. She also has high damage because why would she be squishy if she was defensive? Answer: SHE ISN'T. She almost always has 300+ dmg with 1.7+ attack speed because THATS WHAT SHE IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE!!! She can be killed almost instantly the moment she is stunned, and if you land a grab, she is as easy to kill as a minion.
