Why you should probably ban morgana and lux if you are going botlane

sQuirtlez··2 votes·2,271 views

R= Reason

R1: First of all, lux and morgana can CHAIN CC. what this means is if you get cc'ed ONCE you are basically dead and they will simply both spam build cdr and mana so you are basically destined to get hit atleast once, even faker gets hit by skillshots occasionally with the a ping lower than 20.

R2: Morgana's W and lux's E are both near impossible to dodge without proper spacing, but their range is so big and they play so aggro if you were to space out of their range you would simply not get cs and in some cases not even xp.

R3: Morgana has an ability that LITERALLY gives any person including her self a 20 second olaf ultimate that can only be removed with magic damage and lux has a shield that negates a shit ton of damage and counters ignite and any damage over time effects

R4: they both have cancer ultimate for example morgana can ult while in zhonya, lux ult is undodgable if cc'ed with barely any cooldown

Conclusion: just ban them they are both cancer

Those are big words and yet they make so little sense.

Morg is too strong after her update, but Lux? SHit tier champ for ages now.

Black shield still only 6 sec no (with long CD) ? Morgana W = 0 damage if you are not snare inside his range : Use 130 mana to deal 100 damage isn't worth.

Why the hell are people waking up now? Morgana is almost the same as she always was. Granted, her visual and audio design SUUUCK now, but her gameplay did not change.

Because a significant portion of the LoL community is incapable of thinking for themselves and need LCS players to help them decide what is good and what isn't. She counters EVERY.SINGLE.SUPPORT basically with the click of a button that's not even an ultimate. She was a powerhouse in S4 and then people forgot about her in S5/S6 despite still being the same as she was then.

Counters every single support, and up until recently, had a 48% win rate against almost every single support except Leona, Pyke, and Alistar. That's a hell of a counter. Lose more than half of your games!

She sucks against:

Sona - Gets out poked and out sustained massively Nami - gets out poked and out sustained massively Soraka- gets out poked and out sustained massively Zyra - Gets massively out poked and plants block Morgana Qs. Karma- Out poked and out sustained Thresh - Q still teleports if hooked even when BSed. Flay is near instant.

Stalemates with:

Lulu- she doens't do enough damage to kill anyone through lulu's shielding and ult Janna- Janna has enough tools to counter Morgana engage, but Janna needs to dodge Qs

She beats:

Pyke- If she ever gets hooked she's dead so she has to play perfectly. Alistar - if she ever gets knocked up she's dead so she has to play perfectly Leona - IF she's ever stunned she's dead so she has to play perfectly.

Truthfully, if you're having problems against Morgana you're just bad. I see Morgana picked on the enemy team all the time and I beat her every single time.

No-No-No, you have it the other way around it's not "if you have problems against Morgana you're just bad" it's if you lose AS Morgana then YOU are bad. You can like it or not like it, but she does, in fact, counter a vast majority of the few supports in the game. It's silly to have conversations with people defending their main's state of balance, but I'll play your game:

"Nami - gets out poked and out sustained massively" " Soraka- gets out poked and out sustained massively"

-- She counters Nami's cc making it impossible for Nami to ever land bubbles, no Morgana is stupid enough to use the spell shield if Nami doesn't bubble, the bubble also has a delay so you can block it. You wait it out until 6 and spell shield yourself + Ult. As for Soraka, she has no mobility, so since Morgana's ult gives her movement speed there's no reason for you not to be able to all in.

**"Zyra - Gets massively out poked and plants block Morgana Qs.

Karma- Out poked and out sustained**

Those are not counters, those are skill match-ups. It is up to you to land your snares and then engage with your ultimate when you and your ADC attack the snared target. Also for Zyra don't give me this nonsense "but the plant's block!" wait for it to die, there isn't going to be a plant in every spot of the lane.

"Thresh - Q still teleports if hooked even when BSed. Flay is near instant."

I'm sorry, but it's ridiculous to sit here and say that Morgana doesn't counter Thresh. Yes, Thresh can pull himself to the hooked target.... for you to snare him when he arrives in your face, so that's out of the realm of possibilities for what Thresh can do in that match-up. As for the flay, Thresh needs to be dangerously close to flay, so as a Morgana main it should be completely obvious to you when he's going to flay. The flay doesn't make the argument for him being a "counter", it means you have a personal problem you need to work on.

_Bonus of champions you forgot she counters: _

Blitzcrank Zilean Braum Nautilus Rakan

Good news though! I will give you Sona so that's 1 counter and a few match-ups where she is even, WOW ~~totally proved me wrong. ~~She does counter a vast majority of the very few supports we have, so now it comes down to personal acceptance of that. It's clear that she will never be changing as during the update she stayed mostly the same aside from adding movement speed to her already broken all-in, So why you feel the need to argue about something unarguable is beyond me.

I typically make it a rule not to argue a champions state of balance with their main because they're highly delusional, stubborn and just beat around the bush regarding it, but I made an exception this time, you're welcome.

That's funny because Nami's aqua prison has a much lesser cd than Morgana's black shield, and Morgana also has to pick one or the other, either her adc or herself. It's up to you to decide. And on top of that, you can just outscale her in damage with your bounce heal. You have to play differently depending on what support you play against Morgana, as you should do with every other support or champion for that matter.

You're not visually impaired, the bubble's delay gives you enough time to go "Hmm... the bubble is being thrown on the left side of the lane where my ADC is... that means I have to shield the ADC!". Aqua Prisons' CD might be lower, but to use so soon during when Black Shield is on cooldown would be spamming it and most likely it would miss because unlike spell shield, aqua prison is a SKILLSHOT. You can go on and on about poking, but when it's lvl 6 it is over because her broken all-in with self-shield, ult and (now movement speed!) finishes the deal.

Before you mention flash, Morgana can also flash too after her. The fact that you have to even flash because there's no counterplay to her all-in just proves my point even more. "Uh-oh! she spell shielded herself! Looks I can't stun/slow her to save myself!"

If both the adc and Morgana is clumped together then? Those windows actually happen, and often when you do hit with your aqua prison it's almost a guaranteed kill, because of the duration of the knockup. Also don't forget that Morgana's Q is a skillshot as well, which is far much harder to land than aqua prison because you can take cover behind minions and it only hits one target.

You forget the fact that Morgana has to get in range to use her ult, she has to physically walk in there to use her ult, and if she flashes, you can flash out of it as well. Lux is a far worse support to face than Morgana, because she can poke a lot more with far less interaction with the enemy champions.

No, you're completely missing the point. Morgana doesn't have to worry about Aqua Prison potentially landing and killing her ADC because with the spell shield it'll never land, we just established this. The snare is definitely a great form of skill expression, but the fact is that she doesn't NEED it to win the laning when she can just throw it **after ** Soul Shackle's stun. Aqua Prison has a small hitbox, so if you both get hit by it for some idiotic reason, then it's YOUR fault for standing so close to each other when there's no reason for you to.

"Also don't forget that Morgana's Q is a skillshot as well, which is far much harder to land than aqua prison because you can take cover behind minions and it only hits one target."

We aren't talking about the snare, the snare **isn't **where the problem lies. One balanced part of her kit **isn't **making up for the problematic parts.

"You forget the fact that Morgana has to get in range to use her ult, she has to physically walk in there to use her ult"

Are you joking? having to click your mouse to them is a STRUGGLE? My God I can only imagine the things you find challenging in life. With self-shield she can walk up to you and get away with it. Again, the fact that you're forced to flash every time she all-in's is exactly my point on how her lack of counterplay with all-in's is problematic. Flash 300s cooldown, Soul Shackles - (Laning) > 120s. Her laning follows the same tactic rinse and repeat:

  1. Allow them to push into your tower so you have plenty of room to all in at LVL 6
  2. Jump onto and self-shield the first target closet and easiest to kill
  3. Once stunned, snare, pool, ignite...
  4. "You have slain an enemy!"
  5. ADC & Morg turn your attention to the other partner, 2 v 1.
  6. If you have time, push tower plates/recall with your new lead!

"Lux is a far worse support to face than Morgana, because she can poke a lot more with far less interaction with the enemy champions."

We are talking about Morg, not Lux. Lux doesn't have a spell-shield where she can just latch onto someone and you can do nothing about it. They're similar in kits, but only one has the lack of counterplay spell shield.

This is your problem like that other Morgana Main I was speaking to, out of blind devotion you're unable to come to terms with this reality so you'd rather just repeat the same (pardon my French) bullshit arguments like flashing "proves!" there's counterplay to Morgana despite the gigantic differences between Soul Shackles and Flash's cooldown. It's OK to like that _(unfortunate) part about her, but trying to deny it and argue against it is so utterly pointless.

I'm pretty sure you've never played bot lane or Morgana. Oh well.

Lets not forget the wonders of Brand Velkoz Xerath range and burst on Lux.

Also my personal favorite counter to both Morgana and Lux; Galio

Galio does not care about your shields. You'll need them just to live when I taunt you and you're uselessly autoing me.

Morgana's W also does pathetic amounts of damage unless the enemy literally stays on it. It's a very small AoE ability so you can walk out of it almost instantly. Lux E is very dodgeable, if you zone yourself just to do that then it's on you and not the Lux since Lux isn't going to let it sit there in most cases and will just detonate it almost instantly.

How does Lux chain CC anyone? she has a single slow and a single root... her landing a slow can make it easier for her to land her root but it's not guaranteed. Also since one is a soft CC and the other is a hard CC then the term "chain CC" doesn't really apply since at that point Ashe is able to "chain CC" you from lvl 1. There is a reason why "chain CC" is referred to hard CC like stuns and roots and not slows. Also for Morgana to chain CC you she needs to land a root, be close enough that she can get to you and use her ultimate and feel safe while doing so. In other words it requires some amount of setup... unless the Morgana cares little about being blown up before the root of her R takes effect.

You do know that pretty much every shield in the game counters ignite and DoT effects right? what makes Lux's anymore special? it can even miss her allies! Morgana's E does not last for 20 seconds. If you are going to complain about the ability of a champion at least get the details of said ability correct.

Oh noes! you can get hit by a skillshot while CC'ed… can you tell me a skillshot that isn't the case? why even mention this?

Conclusion: they are both fine and you more than likely are salty that you lost to them recently

That Lux comment man. She's been a staple of frustration in the game for years with little changes whatsoever. I absolutely hate to admit it but both the champs are in a great spot. They take clutch skill to make work, they have obvious windows where you can counter them or trade. They can be equally cc'd and overwhelmed. I completely understand the frustration on a personal level, but it's YOU, not the champions in this case.

Can we please talk about Yasuo/Riven/Zed/Irelia/Illaoi? Actual OP champs that need deletio- nerfs. :)

I ban Morg in all but top and jungle

Her Ult and Q is too strong.
