A few days ago I decided to main Top Lane and get better at the role. Before switching, I was maining Support for a while. The main reason for leaving the role was because I was kinda bored of it; I wanted something fresh and new. Also good to note that my College is having an e-sports program and the deadline to signup is today....meaning I really need to decide what I want to play.

After switching to Top lane, I devoted my time to play the role and try to get good...but after being auto filled support today in a game, I started thinking if I really wanted to play Top Lane.

In Support, I can currently play every single champion at a certain degree, mostly maining Nami Alistar Thresh Rakan Karma . In Top lane, I can barely play everyone. For now I usually only play the tanks Malphite Shen Maokai with some Kennen. I've always had a problem with switching roles in all games, I want to stop this and actually try to get good at a role. Help!

if you are comfortable playing support then main that shit and play it until you are a god. especially when referring to e-sports, you always want to play your main

and i find that top has virtually no impact on the game whatsoever and tbh i forget the top lane even exists sometimes, theyre so isolated

Top is a very volatile place at the best of times, and right now is not the best of times.

As a top lane main the best piece of advice I can give you is to start with what you know. Karma is a decent solo laner, and can be taken Top and Mid. Play her into a few different matchups for both Top and Mid to get a feel for the lanes, and then decide which lane would be better for you.

Other supports that can go Top right now are Taric, Rakan, and depending on the matchup and team comp Lulu. Once you get a feel for the lane you can safely move on to other champions, because you'll have some idea of what should and should not work based on popular picks.

Also technically Tahm is a top laner, but you seem like someone who still has some amount of self respect.
