Players frequently disconnecting when I try to play Ranked

Last two games I played this morning involved two folks on my team having connection issues--I couldn't be mad because of how apologetic they were/how bad they must feel but it seems to be a prevailing trend whenever I'm playing and it's astoundingly frustrating to spend an hour getting whipped around in 4v5s. In hindsight, I've been seeing this happen a lot more than in seasons prior--it completely dampens the game for me, regardless of which team has the weak-link, and makes Ranked feel like treading over a minefield.

I understand that excluding losses based on teammates d/cing could potentially be abused but if Riot could steepen the penalty for people disconnecting/lighten the load for teammates who have to tolerate them it would go a long way. It sounds harsh, but people who insist on playing on a bad connection are doing so at the expense of everybody else and it completely illegitimates the idea of a competitive, fair environment.
