The Official Leona Fanboy Thread

Hey everyone, I just made a new account after an extremely long break from league, and am eager to play with all of you ingame! I wanted to shed light on something I've noticed about Leona in the new preseason, primarily that she absolutely wrecks harder than the previous seasons. Pick Leona support in queue, A great example of runes/masteries I'd use these days..... .......<3 ~~

RUNES

• 9 flat armor marks
• 6 scaling hp seals, 3 flat armor seals
• 6 flat cooldown glyphs (for a very well-rounded 5% cdr iirc) and 3 scaling/flat mr glyphs
• 1 flat armor quint, 2 flat hp regen quints (dont use movespeed or goldpersec)

MASTERIES

• Offensive: 4 in sorcery (another 5% cdr)
• Utility: 3 fleet of foot, 2 meditation, 3 summoners insight, 1 alchemist (SO USEFUL EARLY GAME), 3 greed (very important), 1 scavenger (also important).
• Defensive: 2 block, 2 recovery, 1 unyielding (these three masteries will contribute greatly to your early-game meatshield potential), 3 veteran's scars, 3 juggernaut (hella important), 1 resistance (a good investment for dealing with early-game pokes).

You've started a game. Start with coin (or relic, whatever suits your preference; i find the slight mana regen to be of more use--in sync with the two points in the meditation mastery) and some health pots. Play as you usually would. Grab a Dshield, cloth armor, regen bead and sightstone as soon as possible, and upgrade your coin. Build up an Aegis afterward. Upgrade your boots into boots of mobility, Build the cloth into a raptor cloak, but hold off building that into an ohmwrecker until later on. Sell your Dshield, build up a crystaline bracer, upgrade your support item again, then upgrade the crystaline bracer. Upgrade your raptor cloak after all of the aforementioned items have been bought.

Between the monsterous amount of hp-regeneration the new items offer--on top of the generous armor, magic resist and cdr from said items in sync with your runes and masteries, AND the number of item actives that contribute to the utility of your character--Leona becomes an unkillable CC machine with a maddening versatility. I daresay that she deserves a nerf, which is sad because Leona has been my favourite character since she was released, but i feel like it's bound to happen.

Nevertheless, enjoy OP preseason Leona while you can. She's truly the beefiest and most useful support champion on the field. Thanks for listening to my rant!
