Elise Rework/Gameplay Update Suggestions: "Caught In My Web"

Ever since her **E: Rappel ** changes and her damage reduction, Elise's popularity plummeted. Even prior to these changes Elise was commonly referred to as a "walking stun bot". Giving it a little thought, and talking some ideas presented in Nidalee's rework I believe Elise is due for a gameplay update that better communicates her theme as a "deadly/ ensnaring spider mage"

#Design Goal : Elise kit makes her a "trapper mage" that uses webbing to ensare and re-position her prey.

**E: Cocoon **

  • NEW : If Elise lands this ability on an enemy unit, they become a Cocooned Unit and her R: Spider Form is immediately refreshed.

**E: Rappel **

  • NEW : Elise can now rappel to allied units
  • NEW : If Elise doesn't recast to another target she will descend - snaring enemy units within a small AOE beneath her
  • NEW : If Elise uses this ability to traverse while near a Cocooned Unit she will take the unit with her to her destination

**Design Philosophy: **

Elise doesn't really have a defined niche or at least one that does her spider theme justice. The proposed changes gives additional gameplay to her spider- abilities. She can E:Rappel in a bush and wait for someone to walk beneath her before descending/ ensnaring them making quick work of them with W:Skittering Frenzy . Furthermore if she lands a stun she can now transform gap close with a Q:Venomous Bite then quickly take her Cocooned Victim back to her team or out of combat with E:Rappel to devour them.

That last part is a bit broken. Stunning an opponent and then dragging them with your repel. It's like a mini Scarner ult.

I think they would be some debate on what a Spider Queens kit should feel like. I find it a bit odd how a Spider, (with her q I think is called NeuroToxin) yet does no form of poison or DPS damage. Right now, She feels more like an AP Bruiser/Assassin, catch someone in your web, spam your spell rotation.

The other thing to consider before any major kit rework is the positions she can play and whether that's supported. Perhaps someone comes up with a Fantastic kit idea For the Spider Queen, but that Kit might not allow her to Jungle.

I completely forgot about Skarner when I was thinking about this. I guess I figured the above additions would give her more skirmishing power, but I definatly see the abuse cases your talking about.
