Getting autofilled to jungle as a non-jungle

I understand autofill, however in the case of jungle, I really feel like it shouldn't be a thing. Every lane is relatively similar to each other so getting autofilled top or mid or support is not a problem. However when I get autofilled into a role I have virtually no experience with, let alone rune pages or mastery pages set up and suddenly have to pick a champ I rarely play, it seems a bit wrong.

Ivern is probably the best champ for non-junglers to play. You don't have to worry about dieing to raptors!

Ivern takes "I'm Jungling" and converts it to "I'm a Roaming Support", which makes it significantly easier to grasp what you should do. Plus with the way his character's voice over is it's hard not to be in a good mood while playing him.

He's a jolly good chap indeed.

I can imagine this is problematic. One of the biggest struggles for junglers is, that as a jungler you need the biggest amount of different runepages to jungle effectively. A standard AS, AD, Armor + MR page might be okayish for quite a few junglers, but for most of them this not that effective. Also, in the current meta there are very few tanks that are viable and those would most likely be the easiest champs for a beginner to jungle with.

Jungle plays by its own rules. Before I became a jungler I could play any role, but jungling was absolutely horrible for me until I really learned it. In lane there are some basics you can apply to every single one of them, in the jungle you'll have different routes, runes, weird buildpaths etc. for every jungler, so it's way harder to adapt to if you didn't learn jungling in the first place.

Sorry but they is no different for a jungler getting filled to a lane. Learn the role.

I mean in fairness, Jungle mains always have a side role, and the skill involved in that side role likely translates better in the event they are autofilled.

IE if they side Top and get filled Mid, they still have some experience solo laning.

I Jungle/Support. Got autofilled to ADC a few games, fed every single time because I don't know how to wave control, last hit, harass as an ADC or position late game. I didn't whine, instead I grinded Ashe to level 7 and learned the role.

jungle takes a while to learn unlike other roles, it's not just clear and gank, you gotta do what mid top and bot laners don't, gotta work on pathing, counter jungling if possible, and manage more mana since you might give blue over to your mid. Gotta ward to be ready for counterganks as well as knowing when to gank without losing too much time in jungle. Drag and baron pressure is big too, not something that you can figure out from 3-5 autofilled jungle games, autofilled jungles might be the scariest things to see tbh

Runes and masteries aren't that big of a deal. Generic AD or AP rune page work just fine and you can always make mastery pages in lobby
