They're supposed to practice to get better. Of course it's difficult, if it was easy no one would play it.

Theres difficult, thens theres straight up retardedness, this is actually beyond hard, and im not taking hours, possibly days to get good at a temporary game mode
Theres a trick to it nobody tends to understand; you have to actually use teamwork. I know, far out concept, but it's true. If you have 2 carries, a mage, a tank, and a healer, it's not that hard to win if you stay together.
They aren't.
The truth is, low level players will not be able to complete these events unless they are carried.
Your initial post is correct, your explanation doesn't match up with the vast majority.
The problem is that Bronze - Silver definitely can't beat it. It's a challenge, and if you can't beat something as simple as the bots, you're posting in the wrong corner. The game was made with people who understand the basics of the game sort of challenge in mind. But it's simply too difficult for even good players in Plat+
Am I missing something or is the only reward for this event a ward skin and a random champion permanent? If so the difficulty and time does seem abit much for this mode and ima probably skip it.
