I'm sick of these 'supports'

By a show of hands, how many of you had to face a Morgana Brand or even Poppy, champions that are not supports but somehow are allowed to absolutely flourish down there?

I don't feel like it's very fun playing Nami Leona Sona because the other 'supports' are allowed to stupidly curb stomp in the support role. In a meta that already basically discourages playing normal supports, is really allowing MAGES of all rolls to stomp on what should be the support role? That's even implying if they build support, most of the time that Brand is gonna rush a needlessly large rod and 100-0 while all you can do is just sigh and hope it gets better.

Ready for some help for the real supports, and I don't just mean Braum.

Morgana fits perfectly fine in the role of support. I mean, her E literally isnt even a damaging ability. Her Q is the longest snare in the game and gives pick potential, she has high base damage, and even her ult is a potential aoe stun. Sounds like alot of utility and damage with out very much gold having to be put into her...kinda what the support role does. Granted i kinda think Brand is somewhat cheesy, but even poppy fits in the role of support as well; disengage, pick potential with her E, high base damage, her w offering alot of utility against certain comps...they are perfectly fine in support.

Actual supports arn't allowed to deal damage, because of their utility, but ap mages are allowed to fuck up bot lane and bring as much utility as a nami could, but with 300% more damage.

I never understood that.

I used to stick to traditional supports like thresh and lulu. The only issue with this is that it's harder to carry yourself out of bronze when you don't have the potential to carry.

Well the Mages have to migrate somewhere, your ADCs started showing up Mid lane Corki Jhin Lucian .

Even if the Annies, Nauts and Morgs of bot lane weren't already crowding out actual supports, Sona herself is being crowded out by literally every champ in the game. She's the only support without reliable pre-6 CC, she has less damage output than everyone short of Braum and yet at the same time her W and E spells don't exist, whilst being the 5th-squishiest character in the game and having the lowest base MS. There's a lot more issues, bottom line is that she's just not playable.

Morgana isn't a support? I understand the point you are making, but you are dead wrong here. Her E, Q and R are CLEARLY great supporting tools. Hell, Morgana is the #1 counter to blitzcranks "support". If Morg isn't a support, then I don't consider Blitzcrank one

Sadly, the ace strategy in the current meta is simply to produce as much damage as possible, utility and tankyness has become secondary. Thus we once again see the rise of the mid-laner supports, like Lux, Annie, Velkoz and... cringes... Brand. All we can do is adapt, I don't think we'll be seeing any changes to this soon.

"b-but no damage suport is so boring roflmao xd!!!"

I mean, the support role has gotten more unpopular recently due to the dynamicQ changes and how they don't work as intended...

The difference is morgana was originally designed as a support; besides she won't instakill you if she surprises you unlike brand.
