Possible Gangplank adjustment?
Can we , for a momment , talk about our pirate , Gangplank? This champion is supposed to be a late game champion but right now , i don't find him good at any point of the game. After the nerfs on runes and the buffs on his counters , this champion is pretty much non existant at toplane. He has 48% winrate (according to op.gg) accross all ranks. So , can we adjust him a bit? Here are some ideas
Q : Either nerf the base damage a bit and give him mana refund (at least 60%) on killing a minion or make the cooldown lower based on attack speed ( to have a good reason to build
. It is actually annoying to run out of mana after 3-4 shots when he doesn't even have any other opressive ability to land . Yes he has his e but this is another story. Landing a barrel combo not only is hard , but the damage early game feels like you hit nothing.
W and passive are fine. Let's talk about his barrels. This is the main source of power for teamfighting with gangplank. Here is the problem now , lethality is pretty much non existant right now and critical items , while they are good , they relly on luck. So landing a combo build while you have
gives you 50% chance to land a critical . Then you need to wait for the other barrel to come up . While waiting you can either run and AA but that is high risk or use Q , but reaching the carry with Q is nearly impossible with that range. Maybe we can scale the damage. Landing a 3ple barrel combo isn't something easy. Something like : the first barrel deals 75% of damage , the second 100% of the damage , the third 125% etc. So landing a combo can be satisfying and rewarding. Or give him more barrels . Like 4 . Or maybe make the rounds for the enemy to hit 4 instead of 3.
Next we have his R. This is the main problem . His R is good in LCS so riot will just keep nerfing GP if pro players ban him. My guess is that his ultimate needs a rework. Add a new one. Or make the upgrades to have more impact.
Deaths Daughter : A hard to hit ability but ... meh damage or slow .
Morale : This would be good but
- Gangplank ultimate radius isn't that big to support it
- This ultimate is to provide slow and little damage , you mostly want to use it on emeies instead at your alies. Fire will : Again , you can easy avoid it and run out before it hits faster . Make Gangplank great again! PS : Althought i know riot doesn't like buffing Gangplank (i've heard riot hates Gangplank) , a little love would be good!
