Ghost giving invisibility?

*Before you downvote, read the 2nd sentence of the 2nd paragraph to see it gives invis for 1s at the END of the ghost (basically a 7 second channel but you get speed while channeling). Now you may downvote.

So I was thinking...this summoner spell called ghost is ok but flash is always used because it guarantees you move outta a bad situation. I was also thinking about how new players always think ghost makes them invisible.

I thought ghost making you invisible entirely would be pretty busted. So instead you accelerate in speed for 4s, get to max speed (+15 - 22%) for 4s and then you are invisible for the last 1s (total 8s of speed). I didn't like the idea of ghost also being an ability to instantly get you out and I didn't want it to still be used over flash, but maybe some good old utility with some really hard timing.

Maybe Hecarim using it would get some good spooks and the 8s wait for invisibility means the moment an enemy sees you ghosting they're going to gtfo and have a long time to react, maybe a big animation before going invisible too (big ol' poof) so it's not unclear why they disappeared. Best use with champions like Fiddle, Veigar, Rammus, Hecarim, Singed, Talon?

This is a total shot in the dark pls no hate. This is one of those weird changes that would probably go on PBE, get hate from being completely busted then revert.

It's an interesting idea. I should mention the reason it's called "ghost" is it allows you to avoid all collision, however I feel if you are looking at it being an alternative to flash, then having the 1st second rather then the last be invisible would be far more likely to work.

Yeah but having the first second invis would be busted and I kind of didn't want it to be an actual replacement for flash. I mean you take flash+ghost and in a long chase you could gtfo better with ghost but can also use it to turn around or engage in a different way from flash.

If it was the first second then it'd be so op I'm pretty sure you'd only see flash+ghost on most players for a while.

That is definitely a champion, yes.

Ghosts aren't in any state of matter, so they move through anything they run into. It also boosts speed, which allows getaways to be easier (or gap closing). The coolest thing about ghost is that it bypasses silence, so if that bulky sword spinner hits you, you can ghost and get away from him before the deals too much damage and can ult you.

It's still a super niche ability. Basically only speed-based champions use it rn (hec, ram, shyv, singed, udyr) because it's not useful enough on its own, and if you buff the speed it makes those champions super good all of a sudden.

So it's not the most useful for getaways, only chasing on other champions. Which basically means it's not useful, if you wanted kills you'd just take ignite and get free damage.

Which is a bigger problem, because I think ignite is bullshit as it is. It's a point and click fire and forget (no pun intended) spell that does the work for you. At least with ghost you have to put in work to eliminate every last one of your enemy's hitpoints.
