Ranked is a grab bag. I get jerks for promos.
After going on a 4 game ranked winning streak, I was super happy that I got the chance to do my promotional matches and maybe even make it into Bronze 2!
The last 4 games in a row were great, I played well, my teammates used their brain cells, what more could I ask for other than 2 more matches like that?
Oh man.
The 2 promotional matches I got into were downright HELL. No other word can sufficiently describe them.
The first game, we got a Karma/Ezreal duo on our team. Each with 200+ games as their champions. Even so, they fed horrendously and proceeded to leave the game every few minutes. With 2 players (myself included) in our promotional matches, we naturally called them out on their mistakes. Ones that they kept repeating. And repeating. And repeating. Once the laning phase ended, they both left and didn't come back until we were down to Nexus Turrets.* Awesome.* Lost that game by a landslide.
Ok, one loss. That's alright, I've been in tougher situations before and pulled through. Let's not get discouraged!
The second game begins. We're in champion select. The first words out of the last-pick guy were "I AM NOT SUPPORTING, GG."
It was at this point I had given up. I couldn't dodge since it would have immediately counted as a loss. So I entered the game.
Long story short, it was a total flame war. All lanes decided to push to and hump the enemy turret, all while they were getting angry at ME when the enemy Udyr ganks them and gets stupid fed.
I hate how ranked is such a goddamn grab-bag. You can get cooperative, kind, intelligent players for quite a few matches and do really well. But come promotionals, it seems you get paired up with the total failures.
Why is it that whenever I enter a promotional series, I always get paired with toxic, uncooperative jerks. But in regular ranked games I get decent people?
