Veigar's Event Horizon

So, it's been quite the eventful time for our little evil yordle, Veigar Veigar . Alas, it seems as though there are more changes for him in the horizon and they are fast approaching. It seems that these changes have created a shortage in the use of Veigar and we need to create an equilibrium between him and other mage usage. Well enough with these short jokes puns.

To the point: So I saw 5.6 Patch Notes and I found it interesting how they added it to being a dash blocker, and it makes me think of a Hero from Dota: Puck. As for those of you who don't know, Puck's ultimate drops down a tether in an area and ties itself to enemy Heroes within it's radius when deployed. The most notable thing about this is that when the tether breaks (going farther than the tether allows) it'll stun you, which is somewhat similar to Veigar's Event Horizon: you can move freely within the AoE, but travelling a certain point away from the center (the edges/rim) and you're stunned.

My Proposal: So, what I propose is that they make Veigar's Event horizon some what similar to this? Or to play around with this idea. Like, an instant stationary epicenter tether. This seems like it wouldn't really change Event Horizon, but just play around with what the tether does. Fore example, breaking the tether stuns you, but the duration is based on how fast you broke that tether. If you're inside and the tether expires, it roots them instead. This'll make it so that some match-ups are a bit more easily handled (like Katarina) without having to revert to the old Event Horizon.

Example Ability: Veigar places down a ward that binds to enemy champions upon cast. Breaking the tether will stun the target and slow them. The duration of the stun and strength of the slow based on how long they were tethered: short tether life=longer stun weaker slow; long tether life: weak stun, strong slow. If the ward expires, any enemy champion still tethered will be rooted instead.

Tether Lifetime: 3 Seconds Tether Radius: 400

Maximum Stun Duration: 1.75 Seconds Minimum Stun Duration: 0.25 Seconds

Maximum Slow Strength: 90% Minimum Slow Strength: 15% Slow Duration: 1 Second

Root Duration: 1.75 Seconds

Conclusion: These are just suggestions and such which would be pretty cool if added. This way the core aspect of the ability is still there: Think inside the box (or pentagon). Also, I'm not quite sure on the effectiveness of this as a non-ultimate ability and honestly with these effects, it would probably be pretty overpowered (oh well). But you guys get the idea :P

You already answered your own question when you mentioned this was Puck's ULTIMATE, his cage already borders on j4 and thresh's ults, albeit without the damage. Being able to separate nearly half the width of a lane with a BASIC ABILITY which cooldown is around 10 seconds is nuts, .75 second delay or not.

Yes, I main Veigar (s2), and he's in a good spot right now; especially with the 5.6 changes

Boxes in runeterra are apparently 5-sided figures Thresh

But that aside, why would they want to do this? What makes this idea so good that they'll want to completely refashion their assets so that it does just about the same thing?

They could achieve the exact same result by keeping the stun cage and simply adding a Soraka swirlie that slows instead of silences. (and manipulating the stun numbers)

I'm not bashing on you for no reason, just being realistic here.
These two games are so far evolved that honestly I don't think comparing them is a good idea anymore.
