All this discussion about Balance.

Been seeing lots of complaint regarding balance. These discussions have been going on for a long time.

People are upset about the current state of the game, they have been for a long time.

But I personally think Riot has done well with the massive job of balancing the game that they've created.

We have hundreds of champions, hundreds of items and another million things in game, each of which have an interaction and each of which need to be tuned. I believe that in such a complex game, involving ten players actively participating in those interactions, maintaining a 'perfect balance' is just impossible.

Every change that is made to any one thing in game will affect another. You nerf Vayne for example, now all the tanks are stronger because less percentage true health shred. You nerf Janna and Nami for example, now assassins are stronger because less peel. Nerfing an overpowered champion isn't always the solution, and we as players, often do not understand all the implications that changing a single aspect of the game can bring. The balance team gets paid to consider all these things and we can't expect to be able to do what they do. I'd say its a pretty tough job.

So I'd like to congratulate Riot, because I think LoL is still very much a playable game. Of course there will be meta, of course there will be champions in the dump. But we are not seeing any champion with a 75% winrate on average. We are not seeing champions being completely useless even if you are good at it.

For these Overpowered champions, there are counters. There are ways to deal with them. RIght now Vayne is really strong, but Vayne is hardly invincible. We all know how to deal with Vayne, punish her early game, get Randuins, end games early before she pops off. It's not impossible, just hard. Hard is normal. Hard is good! It makes you improve.

And that's part of the fun isn't it? To understand that there is a meta, that there are stronger champions, but finding ways to deal with them and win regardless.

So please, give Riot some credit. They could be doing better but they've done a pretty good job.

Thanks all.

I voted #1. Great job overall (love the new rune system!), but damage levels are still too high across the board relative to defenses and health. I can cut them some slack when it comes to a particular champion being OP or weak due to unforeseen interactions with items/runes, but when the entire meta swings so heavily towards mindless damage at the expense of everything else I do often check PBE patch notes in anticipation of broader changes.

The amount of damage is quite hard to deal with indeed!

I'm playing mostly jungle in Silver Elo, and I find that players at my level are often lacking in the reflexes and spontaneous decision making to avoid sudden death.

Unless very fed, Eve actually has problems bursting a full health ADC early to mid game in one charm duration, which is one second. She needs to land 2 or 3 of her spikes, which takes slightly longer.

I've had many squishies die to me because they simply freaked out and tried to walk backwards, but there are others who made split second decisions to set up plays that eventually save their lives or killed me. For example, instantaneous Vayne flash into E combo that stunned me while I was literally 1 spike away from killing her.

Watching gameplays of higher elo players though, I feel like the game now is more about how to avoid taking damage through kiting and position, as well as good Macro knowledge to avoid getting caught, rather than having less damage overall so there's more breathing room.

In Silver it is really easy for a champ like Eve to constantly find adcs farming alone somewhere, which makes for an easy kill. Better players don't give me the opportunity.

But that's just my experience.
