How does demotion work

So at the moment I am Silver 5 and I've been rolling around 0 LP then win 2, then i will lose 5 or something like that, I know that if you lose i believe 10 in a row you will be demoted back down to bronze 1, when you win 1 game does it reset the counter back to 10 to be demoted? Just wondering on this, I do not want to be demoted xD

so.. when your MMR = 1 whole tier below you and you lose you will be that lower tier.

so.. if you are S5 and your MMR = B5 you will become B1.

No, it doesn't. It slows down the process.

It doesn't work with a counter in the first place, it will drop you if your MMR falls to bronze 5 level.
