Season 9 ranked is not fun anymore

I don't know how many people have been feeling this, but I've started to dislike ranked so much with the introduction of positional rankings. I ended season 8 in gold 3 and now I'm at silver 4 struggling to climb because it has been matching me with low silver high bronze players when I was silver 1.

I'm not sure if many players know but there is a huge skill gap between high silver and low silver. High silvers can at least cs decently have relatively decent mechanics, where low silvers have neither. I got super tilted when I realized I was 100+ games and still not out of silver and started losing games where now I am risking demoting to Bronze.

Season 9 has been extremely rough for me (preseason was fine though) and I think I am ready to switch to another game or just play ARAMs if Riot does not fix this.

I know the intention of positional rankings was to fix the autofill issue but there are players who intentionally try to play every role which creates a shortage of players near my elo so games become a lot less enjoyable and super hard to carry.

I checked a few match of yours and realized that opponent teams also are full of low Silver/Bronzes. In this case you should be able to carry yourself. Even in the last match your team had a Plat 4 player while opponent team had an Iron 1 player, but you still lost.

No he would not be able to carry himself. Shut down gold bonus is now a big problem, because the carrying player of the behind team once being shut down (which is very likely to happen due to being focused) will give the leading team a huge amount of gold.

In other words, shut down gold, which was meant to help behind team to come back, now makes it harder to come back.

Exactly, carrying solo is not even a thing anymore lol. If you are jungle for example and one or two laners feed, that is a 1000+ from kills then throw in turret plates that's another 1000+. Say you have been farming like a beast and maybe even got a 1v1 kill and a gank, number one you will have a huge bounty on your head, number two even with that solo lead the enemies will easily have more if the lanes were at all a net loss in early game. This game is being dumpstered by these drastic changes, that seem to have the opposite affect from what Riot says they are trying to change. Seems like Riot is either lying about intentions and have hidden agendas, or they're just legit incompetent and have a really bad analytic system.

^ Smurfing low elo. I experienced a game where he got to 2134 stacks on Nasus. Game lasted 58 minutes, because only he and I were relevant, while everyone else was feeding.

If you outclass the players you are playing against, you CAN carry, even with bounties......
