Why does my MMR screw me?

This happens too many times where I'll rank and look at the enemy team and my team stats, the enemy team ranks are always higher than my team. I had an all bronze team versus and an all silver team. I'm always placed on the lower team rank average and it's usually a whole rank bracket too. I'm not saying I'm the best player but my team mates don't know what they are doing half the time. I solo que rank about 95% of the time so it can't be because of my friends. I guess where I'm getting at is how do I lower my MMR so I can be placed at a equal rank team both enemy and mine?

Ranks don't matter, mmr's do.

If you're on a team of solo players playing against a team of solo players, then everyone in the match has approximately the same MMR, even if it's possible that the ranks are all over the place. If your team has on average a lower rank than the opposing team, then it just means everyone on your team has a higher than expected MMR (e.g. their skill level exceeds their rank), and/or the opposing team has a lower MMR than expected (e.g. their skill level is comparable to someone lower than their rank).

At every mmr except extremely low bronze 5 and extremely high challenger, you're going to get mixes of ranks, but matches will be 'fair' in terms of mmr. Unfortunately sometimes peoples mmr doesn't accurately represent their skill level (so people falling might have a higher mmr than their 'true' mmr and vice versa), but in any given match, the average mmr of both teams is approximately the same (other than in extreme cases with long matchmaking times), with a very slight advantage (in terms of mmr) given to purple side.

when I play non ranked games I play with silver gold and sometimes platinum on both teams. When I play rank I get some players who just do the wrong thing and the low elo climb is just hell. What can I do better to rank up or get better players on my team?
