Players with 350 mastery points

I check opponents, every time i finish a game.I saw a lot of bronze 1-5 players with 300+ mastery points, and 3x level 7 masteries on some 'hard to master champs'

If they are stuck in bronze, what can i expect as someone who has 70 pvp games in total (30 ranked and around 50 non ranked)?

I know i should not be looking it that way,but its really big letdown at least to me seeing people like that stuck in bronze. They must have at least some knowledge of this game, and how champions works, and then you have me,who has only one champ at level 6 mastery, and 47 mastery score in total, trying to improve.

People could be like mastery 500+ without ever stepping into ranked when they can just run TT, RGM or ARAM to get champs up to mastery 5. Could even be unranked and have champs at M7

Mastery level doesnt really indicate anything relating to skill

Whenever I go and duo/trio with friends in normals it's always the Bronze/Silvers who complain 'Master level 7'. Being Mastery level 7 is irrelevant; as a Plat they could be Level 1 or 7 doesn't make a difference. Main thing I look at is their champ win rate and K/DA on op.gg.

70% of getting in Gold V 0LP is just using your brain aka macro play. Anything you lack in skill you can make up for by leading your team/picking easy champs/picking high win rate champs.

Also if you're Bronze/Silver/under Gold 3 don't play Lee/Riven/Yasuo/Vayne/Cassi.

Doesn't mastery points just mean they play a broad amount of champions? instead of the same few

Mastery points is not really an indicator of skill level, it just shows that a player has played a champion a lot. You get some mastery points every game, win or lose, no matter how much you fed, your farm etc. And you can get 1-2 lucky games where your opponent was just plain bad or trolling, you get S- or above. And normal blind pick games also count.

So yea, you can feed your ass to no end, lose 200 ranked games, but win/do good in 5 lucky games to get 5 S or above rank required for mastery 7 and boom, you're mastery 7.

Your technical skill on a champion does not reflect your skill of the game. I'm very good at Ekko. I can pull off some very good outplays and know my match ups very well.

That said I am absolute garbage at the macro level. I sit in lane when I should be roaming, I roam when I should be farming, and I ward in stupid areas. I don't monitor timers to predict when the enemy jungle is likely to gank me. I respond slowly to ganks unless my jungler pings. When I get ahead I dive in 1v5 to get a kill and then wonder why I die. I transition into the late game even worse, not realizing that the 0/10 adc is full build now therefore is a damage threat in spite of a crappy kda. I'm hardstuck gold and probably will be forever because in spite of this knowledge.. I just.. can't.. stop.. sucking.

I imagine it is the same for those players.

I think that doesn't mean you suck. Some people have other things to worry about (real life issues) and some people are blessed that way, only thing they worry about is to win a game.

A lot of people play for fun,and there's lots of them who play to compete.

Me for an example i have time to play LOL,but at the same time i have kid who has leukemia,so most of the time,my mind goes different places, even when i am playing.

I am not the only one with the issues for sure, other people have their problems as well, and those problems affect games big time.

In your scenario some would say faster paced games are better. Since lol games can become very long and whatever. Especially in ranked when a DC/afk means the game is lost, doesn't mean anything in normals but people try hard in normals anyway I guess.

Mastery points don't reflect how good a player is. Just because X player mains a hard champion doesn't mean they're automatically a good player. You still need to take on account that there are other skills in the game you need to master. Ex. Having better map awareness, knowing where the enemy jungler and trying to predict where he/she will go. Communication skills, making better decisions, etc etc.

Also people should point out that not everybody is grinding ranked, I see some people with a crap ton of masteries which implies that they've played hundreds of games on multiple champions bit I check on OP. GG and they only have 20 ranked games and spend all the time in normals (since ranked is kinda pointless anyways)

Like everyone else is pointing out, mastery just means they've played the champion a lot, doesn't mean they're good at the champion (look at all the bronze/silver yas mains you might run into that win by AAing people to death and banking on the opponent not knowing how to fight Yasuo like most silver and bronze don't know, they got to m7 bit they're not good at the champion), doesn't mean they're good at the game either.

Mastery points shouldn't be equated to being good at the game when high rank OTPS sit at low mastery scores but they're better than most players when they play their main.

Some people just refuse to improove, dont understand why they loose, or dont care why they loose and just want to win the next.

this way you can become a decent play mechanic wise - but completely suck in decision making, romaing, warding, objective controll, wavemanagement, rotations.

All the things that dont require pressing some buttons fast.

If your goal is to climb and not simply having some fun focus on your game. Look why you have lost, think about what you could have made different. Consider every game winnable.

This way you will rise above Bronze and Silver with ease despite the fact you might be weaker mechanic wise.

Hey some guys reach Master with 300 Ping. They're not doing this because they can react so fast and perfect. =)

I wouldn't consider every game winnable...sometimes you get unlucky with teammates and you alone can't do anything about it which is fine. Every person has those kinds of games, but yeah. Like he said, try to improve on the little mistakes you did and focus on yourself rather than the teammates if you're solely trying to improve.

That's not my goal here:

OFC some games you simply loose.

But if you think, "oh that game was unwinnable in the first place" you dont deal with it - you stamp is as unwinnable move on and don't improove. That's bad.

OFC after some analysis you can reach the point of: "OK there was nothing I could do" - but that's pretty rare. I guarantee in most games looking unwinnable there is a point where you could still have made a comeback call - initiate a great fight if you just had a little more vision. Reacted a little faster and safe your JGLs life and scoring a double instead of CSing that last creep before looking at the map. Or use an earlier window than usual to roam since their bot overextended after getting an early lead.

Don't look at bronze as a bad thing, almost 35% of players are in it. Unless you have dreams of being an LCS player, it is more fun to have fair games in bronze than to lose all the time in gold or diamond. Leagues is about having fun, if you end up in bronze for a while because you are a relatively new player, don't let it tilt you just have fun playing with players around your skill level.

Also, the most effective way to climb is to main two or three meta champions, so players who have high mastery scores may be stuck in bronze because they play a different champ every game instead of focusing on a couple to master them.

Mastery doesn't really matter. They could have gotten games where they got lucky or there opponent was just much worse than them. The Basic formula for climbing out of bronze is something like this: Common sense (Easy champions + CS + Patience + mute all).
