I find it hilarious how essentially ANY champ in the game can become an ADC with the new items.

Yeah, the fact that they fear she'd be able to self-cast E + AA for safe poke with a longer AA range probably is the issue. However, that'd put her supportive spell on CD, so... go ham on the ADC. Fair trade imo.

Always been this way. Everyone has an AA. Steroids and/or abilities that scale with AD make the difference.

I've already had success with Janna, Nami, Morgana, and Fiddlesticks ADC. Morgana is probably the best just because of how she goes on a clapping rampage with her autos.
