Why his damage so high? I don't get it, you can't kill him, and he just autos you to death.

Because riot decided to shove all of his damage into his autos rather than keeping any form of skill expression via keeping your stacks on enemies by repeatedly landing q...
Also his q is now more oppressive against immobile champs..you only need to land 1 and they cant run away.
Meanwhile everyone is on the hype train with the belief that tahm kench is "balanced" with this kind of nerf / rework when in reality it just tilts the scale even more of him being useless against mobile champs and disgusting against immobile.
